The Drive on WFNZ Just Got Even More Unlistenable

Marc posted on his twitter, boastfully, that Luck "shattered" Cam's two year passing yardage mark. Nevermind that when factoring in rushing yards Cam more than "shatters" Luck (among other factors). Marc simply could not represent Charlotte, the Carolinas, or Panther fans any worse.

This is why I have a hard time listening to him. This is all he does.

And I thought a radio show couldn't be any worse than David Glenn. However, 5 hours of Marc with a C probably edges out David " I'm a lawyer" Glenn.

You know, it bothers me when they bully Tony too, but that could just be him playing a character like QCB since Tony was getting the same treatment when Mark Packer was still there.

I tweeted him back and pointed out that by "shatter" he meant by 3%.

I stopped listening to The Drive. Sometimes I will podcast Smitty but those two boobs just interrupt him. Marc James is phony. He does guest appearance on national radio shows and spreads gossip about our market. They invite him to report on CLT and instead he just sensationalizes and exaggerates controversy. What I hate most about it is he represents us.

 

Marc is a terrible human being. He doesn't fit our market or values. All he does is say outlandish shock jock things to get a rise out of the listeners. The way they have treated Tony is absurd. Tony is an annoying guy but he doesn't deserve all the gay jokes and bullying he gets. I listen to the radio all the time, more than I watch TV. I have a high tolerance for bad radio. Marc James is the worst, by far. I would rather listen to T-Bone host a show 5 hours a day than Marc James. Just sing the Grinch song, it's basically about Marc James.

I do not think it can be said any better than this.  You have echoed my sentiments about the worthless Marcus in a way that I doubt I could.

It sickens me when he says things like "we" or "us" when referring to the Panthers.  I think if there were two of him I would have to change teams.  I could not piss on that dude if he were on fire.  Truly, I despise him and have never (will never) met him.  I will attend exactly zero events they host and think twice about any advertisers that buy spots during the drive.  It sucks.  Nothing makes me more content to see the draft for SiriusXM every 6 months than Marc James.  Guy is f-cking worthless and an embarrassment to all mankind much less sports broadcasting.  I'd love to hear about some local smacking the bitch off that wannabe on a remote sometime in the near future.  That would be amusing to me.  Masshole Marc has it comin' IMO.

This reminds me of my recent trip back to Raleigh and I realized how much I missed sports talk from that area...  I mean, lil 'ole RALEIGH knows how to throw in some Dan Patrick and Scott Van Pelt/Ryen Russillo so I could go on with my day and listen to 96.1 play the SAME TRACKLIST for the last 10 years just to avoid the stench of Adam/Joe, David Glenn, and Mike/Mike... 

 

 

Raleigh has some straight trash local talent..  They pretty much propelled Taylor Zarzour to Charlotte..  Who else were they to choose from?

I'm sure there's been a few instances when they are legitimately making fun of Tony (or someone else on the show) - but it's an act. It's their schtick. The jokes are part of the script for the show. Every show on every station is like this in some sense.

I've said this 1000X times before in one of the other WFNZ threads - but there's a reason why WFNZ encourages/rewards a lot of the same TROLL callers that have nothing better to do than call every show, every day or the show itself over exaggerates and sensationalizes stupid crap. Especially if it's something that "moves the needle" like Tarheel bashing, race discussion, or calling out the Panthers on whatever they did or did not do. The show producers, the "talent", and especially the programming director go to sleep with a big smile on their faces when UNC gets beat, or the Panthers lose. That's two days of programming right there. The station has no legitimate expertise/credibility on any of the programs except for a meat head who was lucky enough to hang on in the NFL for 10 years as a back up. Like I've said, Brett Jenson seems like a smug doucher, but he was the closest thing that WFNZ had to a legit journalist. It wouldn't surprise me to see Jensen end up with Marc James sooner or later ...which would be absolutely terrible. WFNZ shook up their station schedule a few months ago, but I'd expect to see it happen again pretty soon. I'd almost be willing to bet some money that there will be another big shakeup there before March and maybe even Feb.
