At this time it's appropriate to reference the word of Atlanta's own renowned poet.. the one and only Lud. A. Cris said it best....

aint never count me out
y’all better count me in
got 20 bank accounts, accountants count me in
make millions every year, THE SOUTH'S CHAMPION
cause all I do, all I, all I, all I
all I do is...

All I Do is win win win no matter what

Franchise tag for DE is ridiculously high.

I'm tired of discussing it. People think franchise tag means you get off cheap. You don't.

I could be wrong. But the Panthers typically sign big money players mid season. They don't wait until the offseason and a price war.

I'll just leave this here: http://espn.go.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/3509/hardy-caps-huge-week-with-huge-game

That should make for a huge paycheck for the fourth-year player, who is a free agent after the season. But that's not his focus. "I'm talking about championships right now," Hardy said. "They pay a whole more for that." He paused. "You know I like the money," he continued. "I won't lie to you." Hardy does like the money. He often talks about having enough to buy an expensive, fancy car to park in the team's parking lot. He should get that and more, whether it's from the Panthers or another team. And while his first choice is to return to Carolina (12-4), to the point Hardy recently said he'd take less money than another team might offer to stay, that could change with his recent hot spell. As he told one reporter on Sunday, "I'll go anywhere they pay me more money."
I have a feeling his agent has had words with him since the "home-town discount" mention.

I don't think you can speculate on what Gettleman is going to do based on what the panthers have done in the past.

I like the kraken and big money tandem as much as anyone else but the truth is we are prolly gonna let G Hardy walk. Maybe we can find another steal in the late draft. We can't throw too much money at the dline position. For example look at where all our money is centered, the running back position. And we have apparent holes in the oline, WR corps, and secondary that all can't be addressed in the draft. Anyways I like Frank Alexander, we just need to find another good passing specialist DE to match with him. Also, like someone said in a previous post, I do NOT want to see Hardy walk like Peppers with no compensation to us!

Franchise tag for DE is ridiculously high.

Im fully aware of how the tag works.

The point is, it gives us leverage. We hold him for like 10-15M until he agrees to an extension at a more reasonable number or we get high draft picks instead of him walking for more elsewhere and we get no compensation.

Im just saying, with the tag, we aren't helpless. He isn't going to leave us without giving us a shot at negotiating a fair deal.
