Along the Sidelines - Division Champs Edition

We have Cam and Luke contracts coming up along with one highly payed DE and a couple other young very promising ones.

We won't be paying Hardy his market worth.

Gettleman is not Hurney.

That's all you're basing your comment/theory on?

Nothing you've heard or seen around the locker room etc?

(not saying that your logic isn't sound, it is, just wondering if you have more insight than the rest of us)

One player I think that is under appreciated is Greg Olsen. All he does is make completion after completion and the occasional touchdown. He is, by far, our best receiving threat with Steve Smith out. I wish I saw Olsen jerseys on gamedays.

My issue with Olsen is his complete lack of YAC. The man seems to look for the nearest tackler to run at and then when he gets touched goes down immediately. Also for a fast TE he looks REALLY slow at times.

Perhaps a slight issue, but a very annoying one to watch on gameday.

Also, for someone who prides himself on being in on every play and performing at every task he's given, his blocking leaves something to be desired.

Edit: Forgot to say that pic of Melvin White is flat out awesome (no pun intended). And I love the feeling from the locker pic as well. Were you able to scoop yourself an NFCS champ hat?

Great pics Zod.

I disagree about Hardy though.

Can't let him walk. He'll get the tag at the very least, but I have a feeling that he will give us a discount and other guys will re-work their contracts.

In a perfect world, CJ says "hey, i'll restructure for less so we can keep this defense intact" and a couple other guys do the same. However, this is pro sports we're talking about. These guys, as much as we like to think our team is different, want their money. They dont want to make less than guys they feel they are better than. We may well see Hardy walk. It would suck, because he IS a fan favorite and has done so much for us, but keeping Cam and Luke is far more important, and what Hardy is gonna be offered elsewhere is going to be more than we can afford.

Very nice Zod...how did you get in the locker room?

For everyone else. let's just enjoy Greg for the next 3 games.  His performance today probably sealed the deal.  Gettleman has to look long term and we cannot afford what we have on the books now, signing Greg long term and the upcoming commitments of Cam, Luke, signing a FA WR, et al.

Stop worrying about the things we can do nothing about.

Restructures don't mean getting paid less they usually mean changing the cap hit by giving the player a signing bonus.  Most any player is glad to do it, that way they get their money upfront.  The only restructures for less are for guys who aren't earning their salaries or are coming off serious injuries.

On the fans, absolutely! I am proud of the fans this year and hoping it carries on from here. Last week they proved they're not fair weather fans which has not been so prior to this year. Big props to them.

How can you definitively say Hardy won't be back. Seriously I'd like to see something to back that sort of statement up. That's a bold statement.

As far as the offensive game play, no way they beat SF or GB with that stuff. Particularly in the last five minutes of today's game. The play calling was horrendous not to mention the play on the field.
