I think the success was less to do with the pace and more to do with simply the play calling. Shula didn't call a pass under 15 yards that I can remember until that final drive. Minus the screen that went for 58.

 

The pace certainly doesn't hurt. It's gotta be mind blowingly difficult for a defense to sort everything out and line up properly and then have to account for Cam running.

Our offense looks to be getting in a much better groove.  Having Cam break loose for some runs usually does the trick and seems to loosen him up.  He was definitely too tight coming into this game.  A very important game plus it was in front of his friends and family against his favorite childhood team.

cam needs to run the ball in the playoffs otherwise we won't go very far

We do not need to punt on our first possession of the second half.  Smith will have a hard time keeping his team in the game if we score.

I've been a LaFell supporter this year. This game so far has proved to me, we'd be better off letting him walk.

I know McNutt didn't complete the catch but it was refreshing to see a WR use his size.

 

Lafell has been just fine in a certain role. Pretty good at times in a support position.

 

As we have tried to make him a downfield catcher in the second half of the season he just hasn't connected with Cam. That is not his role apparently. If he had caught 2-3 of those longer passes he would be a dangerous option.
