Hurst down, injury "serious"

Maybe not as bad as originally thought.  Non displaced fracture

(10:00 AM): Tough break for UNC OT … North Carolina LT James Hurst, a leading second-tier prospect at the position for the 2014 draft, broke his left leg during the Tar Heels’ 39-17 victory against Cincinnati in the Belk Bowl on Saturday and obviously will be sidelined for a while. Hurst, who was starting his 49th career game, has been projected as a second-day pick at the upcoming draft. The injury has been described as a non-displaced fracture in the left fibula, but its not clear how long it will affect Hurst’s preparation for the combine in February.

As a Carolina fan, I feel awful for James... He was mainstay on that line with Bodine, Bond, and Cooper last year.

Hurst will fall but in the fifth round, the risk would outweigh the reward.

I'd kind of compare it to the Brandon Hogan situation except for the fact that Hurst never had any off the field issues which is why he could easily only fall to the fourth.

Pre-injury, James was projected to be a late second/early third round pick.

It's just a broken leg. Not that severe, when it comes to football injuries. Sure, he'll be out for a while until it mends, but it's not like he tore a ligament, or hurt anything structurally on the knee. He'll be fine.

I'd say, at most, he drops to the back end of the 2nd round, right where we'll be picking.
