Happy Median - Talking Offense

The reason I feel we need Oline more than WR is that Oline can effect both the run and pass game.  With our defense it's mandatory that we are able to run the ball effectively.  I don't disagree that we need WR talent.  I just feel like we can make do with what we have until we upgrade the OL.  Cam can only mask the deficiencies in our Oline for so long.  I for one am tired of seeing 1-3 yard carries by our running backs because their are no holes to run through.  We are on the hook for paying these guys for the next few years ..I would rather use them.

That being said if a top flight WR falls to us at the 32nd pick I think we have to pull that trigger.  But the RG and especially the RT position need to be addressed asap.  Hopefully Silatolu comes back next year and can play RG.  He was not very good at LG.  Then that means RT which is a prime position to fill at the bottom of the 1st start of the second can be addressed this year.  Or maybe there are some more waiver wire FA gems that Gettleman can find.  He has done a fine job with Mitchell, Wharton, Mikel, etc..

Who is that Receiver?

Did you see the first catch in the final drive.. how about the catch that scored the winning TD against N.E.   Sure he has had a couple drops but so did all our receivers.

Don't play ignorant.  Don't agree that is your beef but to insinuate that Ginn isn't the fastest receiver in the league (or one of the top) and cannot make the big play is just as ignorant.

Actually, I was just asking. Nothing arrogant or ignorant about my question.

Anyway, I am sure you're right but the problem still remains with this team, no CONSISTENT GO TO GUY for your QB. All the Receivers are good in their own right but none as consistent as say an A.J. Green or Megatron. No one has stepped out of the pack and showed that they want to be the future Smitty of this team after three seasons with Cam.

Maybe that has something to do with the power struggle, Smitty being the main receiver for quite sometime and others may not want to step on his toes....Or may be it could be by the design of the coaches....Or maybe Cam does not feel comfortable with throwing to certain receivers consistently because making a spectacular play here and there doesn't mean consistency.....Or maybe for as good as you may see him as the "fastest in the league," there may be other factors that has held  him back from claiming that permanent spot as Cam's Go To Receiver. I simply don't know. I just know what I see week in and out. And what I see when the game does get air nationally is, no one has seriously stepped their game, like say Luke on the defense, to make a strong enough statement where an outsider like myself can say,YEP Cam has found is go to guy.

The Panthers Offfense seems be more like a hodge podge of extremely talented men that didn't make the cut on other teams. I would think after three seasons of playing with Cam someone would step up and say, YES! I want to be that "Go To" Guy. Damn, even Luke Kueckly has stepped out of the very struggling Defense last season and say...Fug this, I want to be the guy who shows the others on Defense how it's done. You're not getting that with the players on the Offense. They seem to be more laying back and waiting their turn. But I will add, Tolbert has been stepping up and consistently making his statemend when given a chance, but he's not used often enough.

That's just my observation.

Cool,

Could be a power struggle.  What I do know is Ginn has the speed and now he has the responsibility of STEPPING UP.  All year we have preached "Next Man Up"...   Ginn is up next.  Make it happen.

That said.  Throw the ball deep and give him a chance.  I am not saying change our whole philosophy but get him deep a couple plays early.  Get that Defense on their toes.  Will make them think before crowding the box.
