Did we just lose Greg Hardy discount...

I'm going to enjoy our playoff run and let DG worry about it in the offseason. I love Hardy and hope we can keep him but we can't break the bank on him especially with Cam's contract coming up. Of course you try to resign him but we need to think a little like the Patriots here and stop ruining our cap space over 1 or 2 guys. Alexander was looking really good(not saying he's Hardy but he could become close) and I think can contribute if Hardy is wanting Peppers' type money. I am not worried about our D as long as Ron is the coach ,he has shown he can get ALOT out of middle of the road players. Our offense on the other hand needs an influx of talent ASAP

GTFO with all that level headed, common sense, optimism. That poo has no place on the huddle.

Tolbert as defined by his position is very well payed for a FB at 4 years 8.4 million, I don't see much discount. He does have other skills and can run the rock very well as he demonstrated in SD before coming here when Ryan Mathews couldn't stay healthy. He's doing the same damned thing here because Stewart is done. If 28 and 34 were both healthy he'd be more of a traditional FB as his carries would be limited. Hurney's eyes just rolled in the back of his head when he sees a running back like a Great White feasting on Dat Alice's floating corpse. Hurney couldn't slide a contract under Dwill's, Stew's or Tobert's noses fast enough.

Haha I've been here thru the rough poo. Kerry Collins, George Seifert, Sean Gilbert, Weinke, live at BOA for the 08 playoff ass kicking....enough said.  Jimmy Clausen isn't our QB, Hurney isn't the GM anymore,  we have Cam fuging  Newton, And we're going to the playoffs.  This franchise is on the way up with or without Greg Hardy(hopefully with).

Based on stats and advanced stats, Hardy is in line for a very big payday. Were talking CJ type of money or close to it, Hardy is going to get 10+ million a season or the franchise tag from the Panthers. Back to back seasons in the top 5 of NFL DE's in Pressure stats = he's getting paid.

The issue us that you will have over $20m a season in the DE position. That is a very steep price with the salary cap.

We have other needs in this team and two good backups at DE.

I want Gettlemen to find a way to keep him. But due to economics, I won't be surprised if we lose him.

Hoover was never a top 2 fullback. He was playing in the era of Tony Richardson, Lorenzo Neal, Mack Strong, Laron Mclain, Fred Beasly, etc.....all guys with multiple pro bowls and/or all pro selections.

Name 2 better FBs from the span of 2008-2010 than Hoov. Hoov was a pure blocking FB and he was one of the best over that time span.

Hoov never got the credit he deserved when people were going gaga for Double Trouble.

Tolbert isn't an old school blocking FB. More RB than anything. Hoov in one game would lead block as much as Tolbert has all year

I don't think that we will be able to keep him when its said and done but I do hope that I'm wrong and we find a way to keep him. Keeping our core guys together is huge and I'd love to have him going forward. There's no doubt that he'd be a highly sought after DE and I'd hate for him to go to Atlanta...
