This is such an awesome read now (old Adam Schein article)

This idiot makes a fool out of himself, but you are talking about two Cam Newtons here. The mature Cam had not evolved yet, so his predictions are closer to being right that wrong

Yeah, who could have ever predicted that a third-year QB would continue to mature and improve?  That's so far out of the bounds of reality, we HAVE to give guys like Schein a pass!

Somebody ripped Peter King for picking the Panthers to finish last and his response was "that's why they pay me the big bucks". The sad part is he's right. He could predict the wrong things for 25 straight years and he would still be laughing to the bank.

And how much does he get paid?

Nobody said that, but if it makes you feel better--Vince Young, Ryan Leaf, Demarcus Russell, Mark Sanchez--how many examples of QBs not maturing do you need?  More?  Mike Vick, Josh Freeman, Joey Harrington....

When I said that he makes a fool out of himself when he tries to predict the future, did that register?  Is that giving him a pass?  Thanks for the open-minded comprehension. This illustrates my point.

Someone call into his stupid show and mention this. Has he officially said he was wrong yet?

I'm not sure if he said it on his show or not, but I tweeted him today after seeing this thread and this is what he said.

Me: @AdamSchien Time to eat crow, Mr. Schein. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000167664/article/carolina-panthers-going-nowhere-with-ron-rivera-cam-newton

Schien: @CodyLuck time? It is way past time!

SCHEIN From 12-23-2013:

This offseason, I wrote that the Panthers were going nowhere with Cam Newtonand Ron Rivera. When they started 1-3, I looked like a prophet. Since, though -- and I'm thrilled for the great Panthersfans about this -- I've been proven dead wrong.

Rivera's team plays hard and is ready for any challenge, as the Panthersshowed once again by beating theSaints on Sunday. And though Newton, frankly, struggled mightily in what was arguably one of his worst games of the season, he saved his best for a pulsating final drive. That's clutch; that says something.

I've already written that Luke Kuechly deserves to be the Defensive Player of the Year. As for Rivera, he's a Coach of the Year candidate, while Newton is on my short list for Comeback Player of the Year.

Get over it you bunch of sensitive little children.

How many of these guys get paid to "prognosticate" and will say, "I don't know, Carolina might be good, Tampa Bay might surprise, Atlanta might still be good and the Saints will probably win some games."

None.

they will always have to make definitive statements about things, else, nobody would care what they say and they would never cause any conversations nor questions with their comments.  Look at people like "Kazoo" from ESPN.  People ask Clayton his opinion about football all the time and he has never had a clue, but he still says "stuff".  Look at the Swami who goes about 25% with all his predictions, yet, he still has a segment.  Bottom line, this guy is no different than the guys who said after our 12-4 season a few years ago, that we would be back on top.  Then we sucked.  Did you whine and moan about those preseason predictions?

It happens both ways and is nothing more than a crap shoot, so be a bit more reasonable.
