Carolina Panthers Back Alley of Anti-Fame

Sean Gilbert ended up being an average player who absolutely was not worth what Carolina gave up for him. In my mind that's more a failure of the front office rather than Gilbert's - I don't know that anyone could have successfully fulfilled those expectations.

True. It was like a collective FO "C'mon Man!"

I wasn't expecting much from Pickles to be honest... he just proved my doubts to be right.

Can't fault Nelson. The kid had talent, but degenerative knees kept him from fulfilling his dreams. I felt sorry for him more than anything.

The Gilbert fiasco was the worst trade we've ever done, and we've had some doozies (thanks again Hurney Magic!). The guy was expected to do great things.. the problem was, he didn't even do average things. I blame that more on him than the FO, although they get the donkey punch for being stupid enough to give away that much in the first place. Eric Shelton, any USC receiver we draft, any FA Lineman we trade/paid big bucks for, and He who shall not be named all are in this discussion.

For a positive spin though, maybe we should also do a thread with top 5 overachievers: Guys you thought wouldn't be much, but really turned it up when called upon. (IE: Goings, Hoov, etc).

Deshaun Foster.

Foster came through with some big games for us in the playoffs.........remember the Rams game and the Philly NFC champ game?

I thought he was pretty good for a number 2.......

Jimmy Clausen was the biggest bust not only for the Panthers but in all of NFL history........lol!
