while fighting traffic in houston i debated the merits of sitting on my ass for another 500 miles to go to big gap national park, and then debated the merits of going to mexico, and then the merits of going to austin, and then at the last possible second i nixed all three and cut across four lanes of traffic to take I-45 north to dallas.

yes, dallas, home of the dallas cowboys

Idea for coffee table book:

Travel around the country and take selfies wearing a Panther jersey and giving a huge finger while in front of stadium. It could be 31 pages of great photography!

Okay, Philly, you need to head up toward St. Louis, get a picture and over to Nashville to see the Titans stadium that looks like an erector set on the outside.

You may want to invest in ballistic glass if you continue north to OKC

i spent new years eve in dallas, ended up jumping behind the bar and mixing drinks for the crowd by the end of the night, and drove to OKC hung over the next morning and thought i'd stumbled onto a movie set. it was completely empty. skyscrapers, parking spaces, restaurants, gridded streets and stoplights, and nary a soul to be seen. it's like they were filming left behind or something. i was originally going to stay the night there but i got bad vibes so i drove on to tulsa, which was much more to my liking.

Philly, you out there somewhere? Be careful- the weather is getting worse!

when i drove over the oklahoma border yesterday it was 68 degrees... 12 hours later it was 16 degrees in tulsa, snow on the ground this morning when i woke up. i spent the day crossing eastern OK, arkansas, and the western half of tennessee, and now i'm at a sweet ass hostel in downtown nashville overlooking the tennessee river and a certain stadium that's going to get the finger come daylight.

i should be home tomorrow afternoon

Tulsa is a pretty cool town, for Oklahoma.
