Camp Countdown: Tight Ends

Recommended Posts

kings hands are fine. he catches what goes his way, he doesn't get much as far as YAC and it isn't sexy but he does exactly what is required of him.

Agreed, I need to get my write up done for the offense and post it. I don't think any three of the guys we have get unseated.

I dont remember what game it was last year but as far as King have sure hands that was definitely not the case. I remember distinctly him being open and dropping like 3 passes in a row. Left a very sour impression of him.

Rosario: Why would you wait soo long to have the offseason back surgery when you arnt even guaranteed a spot.

TE in general somethings gotta change. We need another Wesley Walls. I think if Barnidge keeps getting stronger and with his big frame and good speed he may become the best TE we have. Im also very excited about Brock being on the team.

Yeah, King's whole negative is YAC. He's got good hands, he's just slow.

I learned my lesson about crowning Rosario last season. Blah blah, King just catches and falls down, blah blah. Then watching Rosario not being able to actually catch (or block) sorta threw a wrench into the mix :P

Barnidge won't be a serious contender until he can block semi-decently, which was a knock on him early on. He was basically a bigger, slower receiver. Of course, if Rosario doesn't sharpen up, Barnidge could leap-frog him.

Unless Brock explodes at TC, he's probably PS bound or cut.

People automatically give Barnidge a spot, and it seems like we already have that roleplayer on the roster ahead of him in Rosario.

He should make the roster, and Brock is neither as experienced nor as talented, but it's kinda funny seeing people alter the depth chart based on essentially nothing. Same with the ideal of cutting Rosario for either player.

That because Rosario isn't really good at anything. He isn't fast, doesn't have great hands and doesn't block all that well. At least Barnidge has better speed and better hands. And Brock is the best of both worlds although he hasn't done anything yet and may disappoint like many others have before him.

Rosario really hasn't doesn't much in his time here. And while no one outside of King has done much of anything, how much longer do you pass over other guys to keep Rosario when his claim to fame is one TD catch the first game of the year in 2008. Other than that, not much else. What makes you think this will be a breakout year?

Just got done watching the Giants and second Saints games from last year. I honestly don't believe any of the three are safe. I was paying close attention to the lines, to see who was doing what right, and one thing that jumped out at me was how badly King was blocking. For a guy who's major asset is his ability to block, he was getting pushed around, flattened, and generally stunk it up. A lot of the 1 yard runs that I saw, could be attributed to him getting knocked on his ass by the DE.

Admittedly, these were just two games out of the season, and he could have had bad days, but I didn't see what was so special about him enough to keep, much less keep as the #1 TE. If Barnidge can impress in TC, he could feasibly usurp King this year, from what I saw. Wish Magz would work with the TEs too this year, helping them with their technique.
