ATLANTA: This won't be easy

Same gameplan as last time, but tweak it a bit. Bring a little more pressure and pound them with the run game a little bit harder. Set up a deep ball to Ginn off play-action.

We get up early, we are in good shape. We let them get on the board first, we may well be looking at a repeat of this past Sunday where we're biting our nails until the final seconds.

Here are some random statements from certain articles pertaining to the Sundays Panthers Saints game.

( Ron Rivera expects Ted  Ginn Jr. to take Smith's spot and see the majority of reps against the Falcons, but said Hixon and Brandon LaFell could also see plenty of action. The team is also likely to activate wide receiver Marvin McNutt as its No. 4 receiver.)

( Atlanta, which has been outscored by 74 points in the second half this season, blew a third-quarter lead in a 34-24 loss at San Francisco on Monday night in a rematch of last season's NFC championship game.)

( The absence of Smith won't necessarily limit the Panthers' offense, but they may turn to more of a ground game against Atlanta, which is allowing the second-most rushing yards per game (135.9) in the NFL this season.)

( Newton will surely find plenty of space to make plays, and he's averaged 8.3 yards per carry over his five career games against the Falcons.)

I doubt anyone actually believes they will be a pushover.  To think this would be completely ignorant.  I don't want them to lay down.  Our offense needs an awakening.  A shot in the arm.  It needs to put some points up.  If that means having to come from behind and win 30-28 instead of 17-13 for a change then so be it.  We need out offense tuned up for this playoff run and Mateo el hielo's  chuck it up and pray offense may just force us into a tuneup if he is the recipient of a busted coverage or two.  The TG factor is a big one.   He's a player for sure.  He is also retiring and will have both guns out ready to blaze if we let him.  Luke will need another great performance.  Gonzo has got to be super fugging pisst every time he sees the KC scores on the crawl so I think he may be mentally down just a bit based on the dumpster fire that is the failconz season, but I think they will try to showcase him on Sunday and Kuech needs to be ready (no real worry there)

Bottom line I hate the failconz fanzz as much as the other two douche-fvck fanbases in our division and I look forward to any and every opportunity to embarrass them in all ways possible.  Here's to demolishing them fully and in doing so also crushing any and every smidge of noticeable pride from even the most subtle and polite of their ilk.

Merry Christmas to all (Panther fans that is, eff the rest) and to all a good night.

From the AJC:

  • Falcons coach Mike Smith said that Gonzalez can play as many snaps as he wants when the Falcons (4-11) face the Carolina Panthers... The Falcons want to send Gonzalez out with one last victory.  “That is something that will be on our (to do list) this week,” Smith said. “We must send Tony out the right way. He deserves it. Like always, he will be a big part of our game plan"

We are clearly the better team, I just hope we don't come out flat which sometimes can happen after an emotional victory the week before. I;m also worried if cam can develop some chemistry with his wr's without smitty because we all saw firsthand how he struggled without Smitty on the field up until the last drive. At the same time, cam has always played well at the poverty dome ever since he has came into the league, plus he always seems to bounce back after a sub par performance from the previous week. The aspect of the gm that really makes me confident is just how much better we are in the trenches compared to ATL, that alone should be enough to win us the gm, especially with Peters out

No one needs to overlook any team in the NFL. But this is the 2013 Atl Falcons we are talking about. They are a VERY bad team, we are a VERY good team. Period. Nope they won't be a push over, but this team will win running away. Some of u mention now much Atl has to play for(how they hate us and want to play spoiler etc) that's nonsense compared to what we have to play for. This team will be steamrolled like so many others we have played in route to the postseason.

We will see Cam and our offenses' best game in weeks. Atlanta has the weakest Defense we have played in months, that is fact not myth. Even without Steve we will move the ball easily which will allow our defense to play aggressively. I want to win and for our offense to reestablish themselves. It will also be  good to see Ginn and Hixon get reps with Cam before playoffs start. Get up on them early so our D can attack Ryan and make the ATL players start worrying about their offseason travel plans. It's Atlanta, Hardy hates Ryan and will fire up our D again, no way do we overlook them.

I just re-watched the first falcons game.  They were in the game through the 3d qtr until florence got the pic 6.  They actually had more rushing yards than we did up until the 4th qtr when they started throwing more because they were down.  Steven Jackson is no joke and TG was killing us.  They didn't have Roddy White the first game either.  This won't be easy.

yeah but do they hate carolina more than the taints? ATL loses, carolina is the division winner, ATl wins, the Saints are the division winner.

Nah, you're thinking like a fan,not a player. If it's motivation we're talking about,I think it'll be Atlanta wanting Tony G to go out a winner would mean more to them.
