Cam's four 4th quarter comebacks

Who cares what the media thinks. We know what we got in Cam. Sure he misses throws, but all quarterbacks miss throws. Every quarterback has a bad game. Cam was very raw coming into the NFL.

We have an outstanding quarterback and we are very lucky. He is progressing and will only get better. We get him a true number one receiver and he gets those high passes under control, lookout.

To be honest I think it is silly that the San Francisco game goes in the same category as the other three.  The game winning drive that produced that fourth quarter comeback was a nine yard drive leading to a 53 yd FG, and there was still ten minutes on the clock when it happened.  Hardly the same as what he was able to do in those other three games.

Then there were times int he past where he did deliver the clutch drive, only to have the defense blow it, so he does not get credit for those.  It is the main reason I do not trust that stat.

Even so, it is great to see.him proving that "non-clutch" label to be ridiculous.

Very true, but every time a game was lost in a close one over the past 2 1/3 seasons, they said he couldn't win the game even though most of the time he didn't have the ball in his hands for the last drive.  It goes back to the fact, QB gets all the glory in wins, and gets all the blame in losses, and now he's being seen for what we knew he was.

Oh for sure.  He should have had a fourth quarter comeback against Chicago last season.  That game was so miserable.

My wife follows casually, and usually just ask questions through my reactions, lol...

She came downstairs Sunday and asked why I was screaming and acting crazy, so I rewound the DVR and showed her.  Even she was amazed.  I told her our offense did NOTHING all day, and then that last drive happened.  She said, "we're going to the Superbowl this season!"

I told her we have a chance and that the comeback Sunday was probably the greatest regular season comeback in franchise history - if it isn't the best, it's in close proximity to Jake's first comeback against Jacksonville in which we were down 17, Jake's comeback against San Diego on the last second throw to Rosario, and Buerelein's QB sneak against Green Bay.

I may be a prisoner of the moment, but I think Sunday was the best, considering the circumstances.  All of the other ones I listed happened when there was little to nothing at stake.

Someone needs to find out if that was the fastest anyone's led an offense down the field for a touchdown in the final two minutes of a game this season. I know Stafford did it pretty quickly about a month or two ago but that was against the cowboys.

I doubt it. There has to be one or two play touchdown drive in the final two minutes in the history of the NFL.

I don't think that the 4th quarter comeback was a Cam problem, but a team problem. In college, Cam was great in close games. But in the first two years defense gave up a lot of leads, missed field goals and Chud would call stupid long developing plays without taking into account the o-line's inability to block more than 2-3 seconds.

And just think about all the close games this team lost against good teams the previous two years? We can probably count the amount of games on one hand the Panthers were blown out, Cam and Rivera's first two seasons.

One of them was the Giants. And, boy did we pay those suckers back this year.

Cam's been leading scoring drives at the end of games for the last couple years.

This is just the first year we had a D that could hold people with under 2 minutes, for the most part.

Tired of the "Cam didn't lead winning drives" myth from a couple years ago.  Bleh.

What's annoying is if this were Luck, RGMe, Wilson or Kapernick the media would be worshipping at their feet. The way this team and qb are overlooked remind me of a certain season...

The thing is, Luck has Defeated, Seattle, SF, & Denver, & KC. & He's still not really in the headlines lol

I disagree/this is actually a misnomer.

Cam actually came into the NFL very skilled, with more pocket presence and maturity and professionalism than anyone ever game him credit for.

What you really meant is: "Cam had little Div 1A experience as a starting NFL QB in NFL Pro sets". However, that didn't stop Cam from standing "tall in the pocket", and throwing for 400 yards his first two NFL games.

Cam is/was more advanced--on the field-- than Luck, Kaepernick and RG3 (definitely), A. Dalton, and so many other clowns that came into the league the past few years, from day one. Wilson, is the only one that compares, and of course he doesn't possess Cam's physical gifts (and had to be spoon fed into the offense, and rely on his run game his first 10 NFL games).
