Second round options......

I don't believe there will be 3 tight ends going in the first round and with that said the odd man out right now looks like Austin Seferian-Jenkins. This guy has Gronk like ability and is a pretty good blocker and has a huge body. With that said I highly doubt that he will be there when "we" pick in the second and would require us to move up in the second round. Which leads me to my other second round option, De'anthony Thomas aka "the black mamba". His size will keep him out of the second round and his name seems to have cooled in most circles. Question's about where he is best suited to play reminds me of a more shifty Tayvon Austin or Darren Sproles. This is the type of weapon we need to take our offense to the next level along with going Wr in the first round(Kelvin Benjamin). What say you?

Good combine for those three TEs and all three will be 1st rounders. No doubt about it. Many teams can use any of the three right now.

Not sure about De'Anthony Thomas.

My favorite scenario is (1) WR: Kelvin Benjamin / Jordan Matthews and (2) OT: La'el Collins / James Hurst

but if we're lucky, I mean lucky:

(1) OT: Antonio Richardson and (2) Kelvin Benjamin falls into the 2nd, and if not I'd easily take Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, or Moncrief right here.

I disagree, we must find an OT in the 2nd round even if we have to reach. Our first two picks should be a WR and OT, idc if they are the BPA.

I don't think our need at OT is as great as we think it is. I we are getting back amini and kug next year. We should hold on to Gross another season and shift around players in the middle and RT. I would love to grab a Tackle like Mami's Sentreal Henderson in the 4th.

Cam's scrambling ability masks how bad our O-line has been. If he couldnt scramble i dont think you would be singing the same tune, so do we wait until he cant scramble anymore to upgrade it?

Amini is still an unproven commodity to me, i havent given up on him but Bell is god awful. I dont know who you plan to shift to RT and we have to be aware that Gross could retire at the end of this year. He has said he will not play anywhere but here, but he has hinted at retirement.

Above all we have to protect our superstar QB and this offseason should be dedicated to putting weapons around him and strengthening the O-line. If we get a CB too so be it.

Gross and Smith are waaaaay long in the tooth and the OLine and WR Corps are weak,

So, OT and WR are no brainers and depends on BPA in those categories in 1st and 2nd rounds.  OT/WR or WR/OT

OT Richardson and WR Benjamin would be nice, not for certain that Benjamin is leaving.  He might give it one more season and assure a first round grade.

I've got a feeling this game in Atlanta will have people swarming to the message boards begging for another WR with Smith out - the position is just way too thin and you wonder where the yards will come from once he's gone. Let's sort out the WR position in the first and then shore up the OT position in the second round. I like Collins or Mewhort at that spot and would be surprised if both were gone before our second pick.

http://fansided.com/2013/12/21/austin-seferian-jenkins-receives-second-round-grade-nfl-advisory-committee/ Austin got a second round grade. This draft is deep at OT as well. I think if played right we can satisfy all needs on the offense. But this offense has to be bolstered. That was awful to watch sunday, this offense without steve smith and cam on broken wheels went no where. I don't want to see that happening again. I know the need on the line is great, but its way past time we give cam some weapons to show what he can do and stop making him carry the offense.

    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
    • In my dream, we somehow luck into a top 2 pick and someone wants a QB bad and doesn’t want anyone else to jump them. Somehow we’ll probably screw up the picks anyway, but it would be nice to do even partially what Chicago did to us. We’d have to lose out, which is a decent possibility unless Tampa is resting. We need Atlanta to stay within a game because Atlanta beat Tampa twice. The rest of the draft slots are who knows because Jax plays the Raiders and then Tennessee and you never know who will rest starters. I think we are top 7 unless we somehow pull out 2 more wins. The 4 win teams have higher SOS and there is only one 5 win team with the same SOS. If we win 1 of 3, we still should stay in top 7. If we lose out and the Jax games work for us, we can easily be top 3.
