Does anyone remember before the season started...

I ate a lot of crow when the Panthers started their winning streak, at the beginning of the year I would have agreed with that poster.....

I thought Ron was clueless.........and that Cam would be the 21st Donovan McNabb.....lots of potential, flashes of brilliance at times but in the end a loser.

Of course Cam continued as work in progress to get better both on the field and the sidelines........

In regards to Ron.......The one thing I have really noticed about him this year is the first 4 games he had this look in his eyes like a deer in a highlight.........overwhelmed like he couldn't keep up with everything going on in his headset. Just like last year.........

But now when I see Ron on the sidelines he has a look of demand and expectation just like Tom Landry and Vince Lombardi used to have................

You think McNabb is a loser? Why?

You know that may not be the best description........let me put it this way.

When I first saw him I thought he'd end up with multiple SB rings and change the way the QB position was played forever.

But he ended up with a struggling team and his one SB performance was a disappointment.

I guess what I mean is that he never turned out to be a consistent elite QB that I thought's he would.

Wouldn't you rather have SB rings than stats though?

I admit Marino was great but still like that guy with the stats and the rings like Montanna.

I agree. Corey Dillon > Barry Sanders.

See how silly that sounds? SB rings are a team achievement. McNabb WAS that offense for years. And he STILL got it done more times than not. I mean, his best target a couple of years was Freddie fuging Mitchell.

Very good point. Anyone who reaches the NFC Championship 4 years in a row has got to be doing something right. Besides, they played some very tough teams in those games. Rams, Panthers, Bucs....I think, & ATL with Vick. Then they had to play Pats in Super Bowl. Tough teams.

You're calling those Eagles teams, "struggling", or just under achievers, teams that couldn't win the big one? Cause they certainly weren't "struggling". I get what you're trying to say though about the Eagles and McNabb.

And if you gave me a QB to start a team, I would pick Marino before Montana.

Montana had a plethora of great teammates, coaching and ownership, along with a great system (around him) during his career at San Fran.

The talent on that 49er's team was sick; which is why Steve  Young (who was a bust before that, and had to go to the USFL) could continue the legacy and win two more titles, if I'm not mistaken?

Please don't slight, the great Dan Marino, to make your point about winners/Montana. It wasn't his fault, the Phins, failed to go to another Superbowl after Dandy Dan's 2nd season.
