They were DESPERATE...

My oh my, how the mighty have fallen. The New Orleans Saints reunited with their HC were supposed to just cruise to a Division Title. In a season fresh off of Bounty Gate, the Saints were picked by many pundits to be Super Bowl bound, and that is still to be determined. They were also supposed to come into Carolina and roll right on through enroute to the Division title. After all, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman didn't even waste their time discussing what would happen if we were to win the game. All I heard about was the Saints winning the division...

We didn't see a confident Saints team. We didn't see the team that rolled us in their dome by a count of 31-13 just two weeks prior. We saw a very scared and desperate football team come into our house at BOA. First, they tried an offside kick to try and steal a possession. This really angered me at first because of the Bush League nature and timing that it was used. After the fact and reflecting back now, I realize that Payton was a terrified little BLEEP. After all, the only other time he has ever pulled this move was in the Super Bowl against Payton Manning. So now, I definitely see it as a compliment. They were that scared of our offense on a day where we garnered a putrid 90 somin yards prior to the last drive...

Then they lined up for a 52 yard field goal. I was like yes, the defense held and that sack pushed them back far enough where it's not a guarantee make, especially considering that this guys was just hired. But wait... What is this trickery? Shifting and WRs splitting out and the holder dropping back in the gun... Another sign of scared desperation... Our ST unit adjusted perfectly and there was no PI... yES! It didn't work, now our offense can make you pay I thought...

Only our offense was pathetic all day... I'm almost ashamed to admit it but when we punted I thought there was no way we would even tie the game, let alone win it. I told me wife, it's over... She asked why? I said, because we will always suck when it counts, and I'm a fool for believing even for a second that we are good enough... Of course she followed that up with, things are different now, you'll see. I was resigned and assured her that she would see. Of course I ended up being wrong, but I was scared that whole last drive.... Even when Newton threw the TD pass I was mad a little.... I just kept saying, please don't throw a pick... Please don't throw a pick. We have overtime, at our house... But Newton finally came through after a day in which he was hobbled and up to his usual high throw antics. In 3 throws he changes the storyline about his play from horrible to savior... Unbelievable! Reminded me of the Alabama game where he lead the comeback. Bright lights, the guy plays lights out. Honestly... Cam pulled a The Golden Calf of Bristol last night... And I'm okay with that.id just prefer him to have a Manning game and remind people how good he is with 400+ yards passing and 4 TDs. His days will come, as it's obvious the coaching staff is allowing him to grow. Next season I expect him to sling it though.

All in all, I couldn't believe how desperate the mighty* Saints looked yesterday. It was such an awesome feeling. I couldn't believe it at all. The outcome couldn't have been any better. There's no reason for this team to fear any other team in this League. The offense is gonna have to play better than they did yesterday to achieve our ultimate goal...

Just very very happy right now, and will enjoy it and talk poo to all my friends all week long that we're telling me it was over via text. This one will be remembered for a long long time from now. #KeepPoundingAllTheWayToNY

Why the new user name

Thought we were getting trolled by a fake Kracken. Turns out the guy is the Kracken despite like 10,000 post count. So they (a mod) (or conglomerate of mods) decided that my account needed to be disabled. They disabled me before for making Phil Robertson type of comments in regards to homosexuals.

The really awesome part is that no matter what The Panthers are winning, so It doesn't really matter

The onsides kick was a great play. They made it look easy.

The "fake" punt was confusing and seems like a bad play. I assumed they were trying to draw an offsides. If I recall it was #21 Mike Mitchell in coverage so its not like they caught us in bad coverage.

I hated the onside kick. Yes it worked for them, and had we gotten it, we would have had great field position... My point was that it showed that they feared us and were desperate.

That's a big change from years past... We just witnessed the changing of the Guard in the NFC South.

Or, more likely, they saw our return team backing up too much and took advantage.

I doubt Sean panicked and called a desperation play. Unless this is madden.
