Here is WalterFootaball's 2012 predraft review of Marvin McNutt.

Iowa_logo.gif Marvin McNutt, WR, Iowa
Height: 6-4. Weight: 215.
Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
Projected Round (2012): 2.

12/12/11: McNutt is an underrated prospect and could be a steal. In 2011, he has made 78 catches for 1,269 yards and 12 touchdowns. McNutt has produced big plays in all levels of the defense and beaten secondaries with a combination of size and quickness. The only team that truly limited him was Nebraska. McNutt couldn't get separation from Nebraska cornerback Alfonzo Dennard. If McNutt had gotten the better of Dennard, then McNutt could be a first-round pick.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder could have even more production if he played in a better passing offense. McNutt has deceptive speed, good hands and runs good routes. He is capable of making big plays downfield with his speed or his size.

8/19/11: Marvin McNutt was the primary weapon for Ricky Stanzi, and McNutt recorded 53 catches for 861 yards and eight touchdowns last season. As a sophomore, he had 34 receptions for 674 yards and eight scores. McNutt will have a new signal caller in 2011, so that will be interesting to see how he performs. McNutt has good size and deceptive quickness. If he went to a passing-led school, he could have much better numbers.

Why are posters crying about the wildcat? We haven't used it since Miami. Definitely not in yesterday's game. wtf

I guess if that's all you have to complain about (given that you have to complain), then good. just stfu.

Definitely not crying. I am happy where this team is at today. I just hate the wildcat lol. Nothing more, nothing less.  Back on topic, I guess next week, we will see what these guys in our wr corp are made of. anywho, go panthers!

Looks like he has good hands from his college days

Watched him a lot when he was in college...couple of friends are big Iowa fans and my wife went to Penn St. So, we watched a lot of B10 football.

Guy made a ton of plays. Maybe he has a few in him for next weekend.

Via Joe Person on twitter according to Mike Shula. I know many hoping for King, but looks like this kid will be the fourth man up.Don't know anything about him and it is unlikely he will see playing time anyways.Football gods deemed that Smitty would not have a serious injury and possibly be avaiable for the playoffs with a first round bye. This actually give us a chance to see what these dudes can do with playing time....maybe Hixon is a playmaker and hasn't had the chance to get on the field. Best case scenario , the three carry the load and produce next week and Smitty heals up to play in three weeks. Wouldnt that be a great Xmas present for the huddle!

ahahahahahaha I bet catsfish Alice takes a Mcnutt load in his mouth

I usually use NFL Draft Scout for all measurements and they have 6'3. So who knows.

Marvin McNutt has excellent size (6'2 1/2, 212 pounds), strength, hands and route-running to be a possession receiver in the NFL, but didn't show much in terms of elusiveness or the speed to turn short and intermediate passes into big plays. He is a savvy route-runner, however, who was consistently open despite aggressive coverage from defensive backs. - Rob Rang

Weaknesses: Not a sudden or dynamic athlete and is more of a one-speed guy who lacks natural burst. Not explosive and appears herky-jerky in his actions, lacking the quick-twitch movement skills to quickly change directions and create consistent separation. Still maturing as a route runner and needs to sell routes better to keep defenders off-balance -- will round off and tip his intended route. Needs to use his body to be effective and shows streaky focus at times. A former QB, McNutt has only three years at receiver and is still developing and learning the ins and outs of the position -- quiet final two games of his career lined up against two very good cornerbacks (Alfonzo Dennard, Nebraska and Jamell Flemming, Oklahoma). Has some durability concerns, battling wrist and shoulder injuries as a senior -- also has asthma and struggled managing this condition early in his career. NFL Comparison: Roy Williams, Chicago Bears -- Dane Brugler

Didn't Phinisder (I think that's it) the Miami fan on this board have a few positive things to say about this kid? He spent some time on there PS so he'd have a good idea.
