I know not everyone posting on this board has been watching Cam for the last 3 seasons, but...

It's incredibly obvious to those of us that have been watching that he has worked on his footwork quite a bit and is much improved this year.  At least I think so.  So it's confusing to me, and others, when people cant see this or don't care to, perhaps.

aright I'll give this one last attempt at explaining.

What a few posters here are saying i that Ryan on the Falcons forum, Brees on Saintsreport, Tannehill on the fins forum, etc... get more love relative to the heat than Cam does, despite what Cam has been doing this season, by a long shot, especially for the young white QBs, which makes some posters think threads like this may be motivated in part by racial bias (sometimes unknown by the OPs)

lmaoooo. ok let me get this straight. so:

1) fourm users HERE, know the ins and outs, ebs and flows, and thoughts of ALL other 31 teams forums? hahahaha right.

and...

2) you're seriously making this a racial thing? hahahahahahhha ok, im done. i give up. Apparently racism is still a thing down there in NC if thats the case. Listening to you hicks talk race or talk about how "other things must be racist if......." is laughable to all of us above the mason-dixon line

(1st bolded line): Cam has a weakness. It's his accuracy. That cannot be disputed whether we win 55-0 or get blown out. Im not "focusing." I did not create this thread. Just stating a fact

(2nd bold): a problem is a problem. I seriously do not understand what you homers mean by this. Peyton wins games, he has issues. Brees is a great QB, he clearly has issues. So does Cam. Win or lose.... issues.

(3rd bold): the entire purpose of this 11-12 page thread was the OP asking why this (bolded line) hasnt already happened. Thats it. Nothing else to see here

I don't think you are getting the point here. Every qb has weakness with accuracy at times. Cam is at 61% overall which is pretty damn good. The point that seems to keep flying over your head is that, this fanbase above all others seems to want to analyze every cam overthrow. They don't want to just accept the good that comes with the bad. If there was a perfect qb he would win the superbowl every year but there isn't. Brees isn't perfect, peyton isn't, ryan, tannehill, luck, etc but this fanbase wants to talk about cam's problems more than any other. That poo doesn't make sense.

1) One poster has apparently been watching a bunch of other fan forums.  I know that it used to be that people here were FAR more critical of Cam than fans of, say, the Fins seemed to be of Tannehll - or how the Jags were of Gabbert, though they turned on him after he kept fuging losing, people had more doubts about Cam than people seemed to ever have about Gabbert in his first year or so, and I watched the Jags forum since I like Missou players.

2) haha wow welp that's funny since you are closer to the Mason-Dixon line than I am according to your profile.  Good to see you bowing out after making a fool of yourself, though. and yes, it may very well be a racial thing.  Do you really think the media is treating white and black QBs equally still?  are you blind?

Guess what? The vikings forum shits on more QBs then we do! Guess what, the Patriots forum doesn't need to do much shitting, they have 5 superbowl appearances in the last 12 years. Please go run more analysis and break it down in great detail and make some line graphs while youre at it. I expect a full report and statistical breakdown in its own thread 2 hours from now.

Cam is treated like a step-child by way to many Panthers fans. You pretend to love him when he takes your team to victory and you hate him and want him benched as the slightest sign of weakness. You're eyes are always on him and not on the team as a whole because you see him as a much easier target to hang the true weaknesses of this team on. Plus those in the media have molded him into that light allows you do do so and get away with it. And also some of you simply have your own reasons for joining the media's bandwagon against him.

This the exact same thing I found as well over a number of years over a number of different fan bases across the country.

Another little experiment that they can try: Say the Panthers (or the 49ers or the Redskins or the Seahawks or the Bills or Jets--it doesn't matter as long as the team has a permanent black starting QB) and the Dolphins are playing. Look at the opposing comments by the fan bases to the other teams QB.

In this example from earlier this year, the Panthers fan base was highly complimentary of Tannehill...calling him a good up and coming QB...a very capable starter in this league.

What did the Dolphins fans have to say about Newton? Well lets just say they were not in any shape or form of the opinion that Panther fan's had for Tannehill.

Now let's say the Panthers played the 49ers. You would think Panther's fans comments would heap even more superlatives than Tannehill given Kaepernick just lead his team to within 5 yards of a Superbowl ring...Nope. And of course the 49ers fan base thought less of Newton than they thought of Sam Bradford.

You will find this ALL over the NFL.

Fans of the NFL GENERALLY care little for ANY black QB no matter who he plays for. You may find support for a black QB among his team's fan base BUT you will ALMOST certainly not find any outside of it.

HOWEVER, ask a MAJORITY of Panther's fan what they think of a Matt Stafford and you will find that they hold him in very high regards.

It's quite sad really.

That's the reality of the NFL right now. I'm sure the NBA was like that too at some point. It's a habit I'm sure those fans will have to drop because the NFL and the QB position is not waiting for them. Thank you for sharing your observations as well.

omg it must be so nice to have something to blame for everything. Our team gets one penalty called against them: "YUP FIGURES!!! GOODELL WANTS (insert team here) TO WIN!" We arent getting media coverage: "YUP! ESPN CLEARLY HATES US!!!" Cam isn't #1 in MVP voting the year peyton is shattering records: "YUP. FUGGING RACISTS!!"

i want to live in this world where everything and everyone revolves around you and your likes/hobbies

The vikings forum doesn't have a franchise qb that they have accepted. This fanbase in particular seems to be inbetween accepting cam as the franchise qb and rejecting him which is why it seems like people have to complain about cam's mechanics constantly even though we are about to be in the damn playoffs.

I've said this many times. But if you wanna see who/where Cam would be this year, if things went wrong; it's Eli Manning?

If Cam had a clean pocket 2/3 of the time/a game, we would see much of the proper footwork that you're discussing (but also lacking at times). But that's Football.

Nonetheless; even with a dirty pocket so often--when he drops back. Cam makes do.

Now does he move around in the pocket as well as Brees to make sure he gets his feet set? No/of course not. However, Cam's also strong and tall enough, with a big enough arm, to throw in positions that Drew Brees and Tom Brady can't (ala End of this weeks Saints games, out of position, with defenders hanging all over, or bumping him), many times successfully, as we just witnessed. This is one of the big reasons, why the team is winning. So you gotta take the good with the bad with Cam, and other QB's, while we wait for more improvement.

Eli Manning on the other hand: Is having a hard time, dealing with his offensive line, and Running game issues (just like Cam). However, Manning, hasn't yet adjusted to throwing short and intermediate throws, since there's not enough blocking or run game threat (play action) to throw down field the way he wants. And it shows, in Manning's, and the overall team performance. They both suck. Quite frankly, Manning has not adopted well to the short game, and it's well known in NY Giants broadcasting and fan circles. Don't think many Panthers fan realize this.

Panthers are winning this year (despite the OL and RB woes), cause Riverboat Ron, The Defense, and Special Teams are doing their job on a consistent basis, after the 4th game of the season.

In the past, one or all of those groups, would have failed Cam and the Panthers miserably; embracing defeat, at the precipice of sweet victory. Now more people/facets (of the team) are pulling their own weight.

Despite the offense struggles; Sunday was a great TEAM VICTORY. Every unit contributed, and did their part. This is one of the reasons why, some people find it perplexing; the focus and microanalysis of Cam's overall and 15th game of the year, after such a team effort.

Enjoy the victory Man!!

this is the most childish/homer-ish...?/nonsensical statement I've read. And the one I've been trying to educate all of you on for the past 45 minutes....

just because we are in the playoffs does NOT mean magically Cam's mechanics are perfect overnight. They still need work. Thats all the OP was saying. THAT IS IT. no he doesnt suck. Yes every QB has problems.

And yes we are in the playoffs. Would you now like every single thread to be titled:

"YAYYY WE'RE IN!!!!"

or

"GOLLY GEE!!! I SURE AM PUMPED!"

?? would that work better for you? What do you think the panthers work on this week? Does RR tell them "WOOHOO! WE DID IT!!!!" or does he say: "This is what we need to work on before the Atl game......" hmmmmmm i wonder
