Too many 3rd and longs, Cam's throwing high due to pressure and injury, below average WR's not able to make something out of nothing, o line not getting it done in run or pass blocking, and a pedestrian backfield not able to work in anything but optimal conditions.

 

Agree.  Cam is throwing high without pressure too. 

 

Running plays are taking too long to develop and we don't spread the defense.

 

Cam needs to be a bigger part of our running game.  Gameplan a few bootlegs where he can get in open space.  Our offense seems to get rolling when he is a bigger run threat than he was against the Saints.

 

On a positive note, it is good to see Shula getting Ginn and LaFell more involved in the running game.

I think we have gotten away with the short throws on early downs. I believe we had specifically tried to play ball control offence to keep the d fresh. However unsuccessful 1st and second down runs leave us with 3rd and long. we are not set up to give protection that long. I think we need to mix up some short passes in on 1st and second down in order to make 1st downs more manageable. By throwing some short easy completions you get cam in rhythm, and allow our wr a chance to get used to catching. Once they are you run some play action and hit down field. we have lost our dink and dunk plays that had us looking improved on offence. I think our game plan is working but i think we could do alot better with a small adjustment.

i feel like the playcalling has swung back towards the long ball, which isn't helping when our o-line is as questionable as it's been all season.  i felt like when we were in our best rhythm offensively, we were hitting short routes underneath to olsen and the wide-outs or having the option to dump the ball off to d.will or tolbert... it seems like those guys are having to stay in to help with pass protection more now, probably because of the long developing routes we seem to have gone back to

 

also, it seems like the read option with the chance of cam actually taking off have been removed completely... while i hated the heavy read option offense, that was a huge weapon to have in our arsenal and i'm not sure if shula has removed those plays completely, if cam's just dinged from a full season of football to the point that it's not a good idea or if it's being saved for postseason football... but it seems to me when cam takes off and makes a few plays with his legs it makes him more confident in all facets of his game

Receivers are nothin special, oline is average at best. We're gonna look bad when we play good defenses

It's not a talent thing, I was seriously curious if he was hurt. Ankles or knees or something. He does have a habit of throwing high, but yesterday it was pretty obvious that something wasn't right.

If Cam or the team's doctors don't think he's too hurt to play then he's our QB...period. Removing him from the game isn't even an option.
