My favorite stuff that could fall underneath country is either considered bluegrass or folk, As in OCMS and The Avett Brothers

And honestly both are better then anything posted in here.

I don't like the Avett brothers recent stuff that much(ok but not up to par of their old stuff), but their albums before signing to a Major record were really good, emotionalism is probably one the best albums of the last 10 years.

I've never been a country music listener, but I really dig classic country.

 

That said, the unneeded hate on hip-hop is just as uncalled for as the unneeded hate on any genre.

 

Hip-hop is arguably the most creative genre because it allows for free roam in so many directions in terms of lyrics, beats, music, style, etc.

Except that most of the beats and melodies are lifted from other songs.

 

Just like TV and movies, there actually is very little new and creative in music.  Most just keep regurgitating the same stuff....no matter the genre.

That's one of the most creative aspects. Hip-hop is built on samples.

 

 

Take this as an example. The entire backbeat is just a soundtrack to a movie. But just because he didn't "create" it doesn't mean it isn't impressive as hell that he could turn it into a brilliant piece of hip-hop.
