How would you save this genre? I'm not a conoisseur because of laziness mostly. What are the redeemable aspects that every top 40 song should have?

Country music is absolutely horrible and just like the Youtube title says, exactly the same.

 

If you took small towns, dirt roads, "girls" out of the songs, there would be about 4 songs to choose from.  Horrible last couple of years.  The most shallow music alive right now.

Country music is one of the few genres that hasn't evolved or progressed in 60 years. Lyrically, the genre has always been pretty damn shallow and instrumentally, it's fairly elementary.
