Looking at Kuechly and Davis again--statistically

Thomas Davis' interception was obscene. I thought Brees simply threw it right at him, but then the replay showed him jumping and snatching that thing from 11 feet in the air. That's just not human. And Kuechly is a machine, designed in some alien lab to epitomize perfection at the middle linebacker position.

If that's the kind of game they play when Thomas Davis beats the drum...imagine if Luke beats it!!!!!!!

The success of the two LB's are directly attributable to the guys who clog the middle of the DLine.

 

These guys running around are exactly how it is supposed to be.  Star, Cole, Edwards and the rest are the main reason these two LB's are shining.

 

That does not take away from their incredible abilities to read D's and feed off each other.

Considering what our defense did and has done, no apologies.  Cam really is not superman, he just pretends to be because it is better than "discount double check."  we realize that right? I will say that Cam's drive showed me that he is very capable of being an elite NFL QB--the next generation of Brady, Manning.  It was awesome.

A subpar game doesn't mean Cam is not superman.  If Hardy doesn't get a sack does that mean he isn't the Kraken?  If Cam has a monster game next week in Atlanta does he get to be Superman again? 

 

I see your intent was to give props to Davis and Keuchly but why do you need to downgrade Cam?  Oh well he is still Superman/Ace Boogie/etc... to me.   Davis is like the rebuilt bionic man or something.  Luke Kuechly is just a monster.

Luke Kuechly had 24 tackles via press box stats and 26 via coaches film review. And tackle is not an official NFL stat

It would seem like that, i swear every tackle i saw Kuechly or TD was involved. They were all over the field.

PFF gave Luke a 5.5 grade and TD a 3.4.

According to them:

Luke had 17 solo and 5 assist tackle with 8! stops

TD had 9 solo and 5 assists with 4 stops

Both were beasts in coverage as well.

Only thing that hurt Luke's grade was 2 missed tackles.

I'm really baffeld at this point on Thomas Davis. What he is doing just doesn't make any sense. Even without the knee surguries I wouldn't expect him to be playing at this level at this point in his career.

WINNERS

Luke Kuechly: Cam Newton came up big on Carolina's last drive, leading the Panthers to the doorstep of an NFC South title with a 17-13 win.

But Newton wouldn't have had that chance if it wasn't for Kuechly, the Panthers' fantastic middle linebacker.

Kuechly played perhaps the best game a defensive player has had in the NFL this season. He had 24 (!!!) tackles. He also had an interception. The Panthers held the great Saints offense to just one touchdown.

If the Panthers clinch the division title with either a win at Atlanta or a Saints loss to Tampa Bay, Kuechly will have more than earned his share of that championship. He's one of the most enjoyable players to watch in the NFL.
