who is kt?

Just someone who posts here and turns every thread into a racial arguement. You sounded alot like him.

Please remember that I have no beef with you and do not dispute that race plays a role in alot of things. However, everything is not always about race.

I made a guess at why ESPN is not discussing it.....it is news....and it is sports related, so I think they should.

PFT suggests that ESPN isn't reporting it because Ben is in one of the biggest markets and don't want to upset the fan base and Big Ben in case they need an exclusive.

Nothing else really makes sense. I can't think of another reason.

I'm not supporting ESPN's reporting (I agree it sucks)... But they could see this as a trivial suit not yet news worthy. It could actually be construed as jounalistically responsible to wait it out, not that that's ever held them back in the past.

I do agree it's a double standard, they should be more responsible overall.

I admit my memories failing, but was Kobe persecuted within hours of the story breaking? IDK did ESPN break the story? Revisionist history...

Its like I said before. The reason why people were upset at Kobe is because he was married. How anyone can not see that is beyond me.

I realized a political figure wasn't exactly the right choice about the time I hit post, the right wing is going to attack the left no matter who's at the top and vice versa.

My point is in 2009 the race card in the media doesn't hold the water it did 10 years ago. We have many black hero's now, not everyone but most in my generation really don't see color... the biggest divide for me is the subculture, but that goes both ways.

Well I disagree, it's still a big deal, I don't know why, but it seems to be so. I haven't looked at color since the '70s, hell, I've never looked at it, I was raised better than that, but I just never had much dealings with other races until I was in HS. But there's no doubt it's still relevant. Should it be, no, but it is. I treat everyone the same, with respect and congeniality, until they show me they don't deserve it and then they get the other end...

from PFT

makes me wonder

As several of you have pointed out regarding the decision of ESPN not to report on the civil suit against Ben Roethlisberger, ESPN previously departed from its supposed policy of no reporting on civil cases absent a criminal complaint in the case of the shooting that allegedly involved former Colts receiver Marvin Harrison.

ESPN was all over that story from the get-go, even though the only official legal proceeding against Harrison was and is a civil suit.

And so we wonder whether ESPN will mention the latest development in the pending non-criminal case.

I don't get the automatic "must be the money" reaction. It's a possibility, yes, but her account of what happened is pretty detailed and doesn't sound farfetched.

I'd be in "wait and see" mode on this one until more is known.

definitely conflicts with some people's views on Michael Jackson. specifically AKPantherFan's rampage on the subject.

MJ accused and found innocent, obviously guilty.

Ben accused, obviously innocent before a trial even starts.
