If it's DRENCHING, it turns into a crapshoot. Drenching means every single player on the field is vulnerable to slipping. It could hurt the receivers sure, but it could also mean Munnerlyn or Kuechly slips when trying to make a tackle and Sproles goes for a long touchdown.

 

But here's a good stat: Cam Newton has never lost since high school when it rains at a game.
