Hardy says he'll take a hometown discount from Panthers

All in all I think Hardy walks unless he gets the franchise tag.

The problem with tagging him is there is no way to lessen the hit. Let's say the franchise number for DE's is in the neighborhood of 11 million (just pulling that number out of my ass, but it will probably be in that general area). That's a big hit to our cap.

A deal to keep him a Panther for say 5 years is much easier to massage, keeping the hit modest while we are still in post-Hurney cap hell. I think somewhere between 9 and 11 annual average is where we'll end up if he stays. If he hits the open market, someone will probably give him 10 to 12 without batting an eye.

A good run in the playoffs and more nat'l exposure will almost guarantee is departure.

In my opinion, Gman offered 8Million per season, he turned it down, and now Gman has given him nothing.  He, at the request of his agent, is getting it back on the table.  Gman has seen it all I would say, so we will see.

It was an unsubstantiated fuging rumor that everyone is taking as gospel apparently.

because hardy's quotes in that article imply that he hasn't heard anything from the Panthers yet... and yeah he could just have meant since he turned the offer down, but I dunno...

I got fuged in the ass for $500

sounds pretty legit... were you going for shock and awe?

anyhow, I doubt Hardy returns.. color me shocked if he does because these RB contracts aren't just "hard to deal with", they are uncle wet poots fuged in the ass type of damage...

the number of people who believe this fake story is very, very disturbing.

I thought the fanbase had gotten smarter from the latter hurney years

I think we'll resign him for about that rumored amount that may or may not have been offered.  In two more years we get a ton of dead money and contracts paid off.  Our big money contracts will be Cam, Keek, Star.  Kalil will probably be on another contract.  Center who have great technique last a long time.  We be behind those absurd RB contracts.
