Saints Starting Rookie Terron Armstead At LT Sunday...

I'm with Rayzor.

The guy may be bad, good, or somewhere in between. Payton is doing this primarily to send a message that he's pissed at the way the team has been playing and to suggest that no one is safe.

For all we know, he may only play one series. Doesn't matter. But to suggest that this guy is some hidden superstar held up Payton's sleeve to suddenly spring on the rest of the league is wishful thinking on the part of Saints fans.

1. Peyton is starting a rookie in the biggest game of the season for both teams

2. Armstead has been compared to joe staley

3. I know Hardy can bull rush him and cause problems but he is athletic and powerful enough to hold his own

4. Lets not make any underestimations

He asked based on what and you managed to give zero actual evidence. Bravo sir!

Hardy should be licking his chops

however I am perturbed that Sean Peyton (who is a mentally grounded coach) would have the confidence to start a rookie in a game of this magnitude...

Why would they be willing to start him against the kraken in a big game such as this, if he sucks?

Bc they need to do something....

And I am sure Payton is prepared to bench him after one series if he sucks.... and that he is prepping with that as a likely outcome.

Imagine us benching Bell and starting a homeless man off the street. It really wouldn't be that bold or crazy. If he didn't work we would just throw other bad options or even Bell back in

i can't imagine that he's confident in this option. i can imagine that the only thing he is confident in is that brown sucks and is a liability and his hope is that this really untested rookie isn't as bad as the guy who has been starting all year.

i can also imagine that this is just a motivational ploy to light a fire under this charlie brown's ass.

but to be confident in some kid from a small school who has been only involved in a handful of games and non  of those times involve snaps on offense.

and if he is confident in this guy why would he have waited until week 16? he's smart, but that smart to KNOW that this kid will step into the most important game of the season in a hostile and very loud environment and do well? nah.

Rivera probably is getting some old Pine-bluff footage, a lot of stunts coming on that left side
