Home crowd has made great strides this year.

I did hear a woman call in to the Mac attack saying she runs up and down the aisle screaming we need more touchdowns. She went on to say everyone always tells her to sit down and shut up. My first thought was she is doing this on offense!! That's the only thing that makes sense. Mac didn't even mention that, just commended her on being such a great fan.

The crowd at BOA is a situation that is work in progress..........consider that......

- Charlotte demographics are such that 75% of those under the age of 50yr old are from out of state.........that is a huge influx in growth mostly from 95 through 2008...........that demographic based has many fans from other teams in competition for their loyalty.

- The native population has made decades to develop interest in a regional team prior to the Panthers such as the Redskins.

- Being the first stadium to finance its construction through the PSL revenue stream has resulted in many blocks of PSL purchased by corporate revenue which is utilized for many employees and clients whose loyalty lays elsewhere........

You are not going to have a crowd like Pittsburgh, Green Bay or Chicago overnight.......

It will be another 10 to 15 years and at least one Super Bowl to have a thoroughly new generation of fans who grew up with this team and its success. Until then you can have some games with great atmosphere like this weekend.........

But the passion won't be realized until the tradition and success is further established.

I'm probably a rare bird...........living in Pittsburgh for 43 yrs I grew up with the Steelers and was friends with the Rooney family. I loved the Steelers of the 70's with Art Rooney as the owner.................but moved down here in 98 and thought I could root for both teams since they were in different conferences.

However today, I don't even like the Steelers anymore..................yup you heard it.

To be honest my interest in them has been on the decrease ever since Art Rooney died and Chuck Noll was fired..............

So it was easy for me to embrace the Panthers..................besides I like the colors and uniforms better............hehe some reason huh?

The one time where it wasn't quiet on offense was the first play after the blocked punt. And there were people encouraging cheering in sections 544 and 545. After the first play, it died almost entirely. For the most part, the two games I was at this year (Falcons and Jets), the crowd was REALLY good. Still a bit late getting into the stadium, and they tend to opt for standing in long ass lines at halftime rather than making it back to their seats for 2nd half kickoff. And people randomly leaving during the game. I absolutely hate the constant traffic up and down the steps. It's never ending. Why the fug even pay for the ticket?

The only fail they had on Sunday was some people in front of us started cheering during our 4th and 2 attempt. We were in that end zone end too

Yep, the crowd went back to their old ways there. You could definitely hear it on TV.

But I did notice the crowd queiting down at the right times during the Pats game.

It's sad that in today's day and age the majority of a 72,000 person crowd does not know how in the fug to act at a football game. We've been kicking ass for years in SEC stadiums. Just do what you normally do at an SEC game.
