Sometimes I wonder why some Qbs get a pass from the media

Tom Brady does some stupid bleeping stuff. Kicking Ed Reed, berating his teammates and coaches. Go on rants in the media. But he gets the Super Bowl pass. If you win the Super Bowl you are entitled to be a dick for the rest of your career. What bothers me about the media is they comment on things they do not understand. If you are not up to date on a topic then don't go on TV running your mouth. People are still bringing up post game press conferences with Cam. A couple weeks ago I heard a guy say "well yeah sure his press conferences are good now because he's winning". Completely ignoring the three Panther losses because he didn't bother listening to the press conferences. These guys get the highlights on sport center and second hand regurgitated information.

Some on here want to believe the media is all in love with Cam because the Panthers are winning and a SB win will cover a multitude of Cam hate. The truth is, there are many in the media who actually like Cam. But they are encouraged to tow the line because those who keep wanting to see Cam fail can't admit that they are wrong about him.

In case you haven't notice, the way our media handles things these days is to never admit they are wrong or just let things die. Nope! They will keep pushing the same talking point until they get an outcome they can then try to spin into them being right. Case in point: the towel on the head turned in Cam being immature and that in turn became Cam isn't a good team-player nor leader. That pllayed into their own narrative of Cam being "selfish" and a "me first" person. The endless harping over his "decision making skills" in nothing more than them saying, SEE...we were right about him not having "the intangibles" needed to be a good NFL QB. The so called accuracy issues is another one of their own made up narrative about Cam's QB mechanics.

Those who run today's media give the impression that they rather burn in hell before admitting they are wrong or letting go. Pay real close attention to those QBs  they annointed "Chosen Ones" during their individual drafts. Theyr QB record is worst than Cam's and Dalton but you would know it by the way they are treated.

I have probably seen maybe 4 or 5 full Lions games in the last 2 years, so my sample size is small. When I say they look undisciplined to me, it's not just the penalties, it's the carelessness with the ball, and not playing within themselves along with their propensity for penalties at exactly the wrong time.

Fairley is a monster. He looks like he's added 35 pounds since he was drafted, but he still is very quick and can seemingly penetrate the pocket at will. We all know Suh is great. Reggie Bush was a great addition. But in spite of that talent, they just seem to piss away games on a regular basis. I think it's coaching because they have the talent. But maybe you're right, perhaps they just need a fresh face at offensive coordinator.

They are a very tough team to figure out.

I hate to beleaguer this, but, you hit it. For any number of reasons the Lions are underperforming. Gonna be fun to see what happens. I hate the parallel between us and them. They are going through that, "Well, that was an interesting way to lose a game." faze. Top notch Offense can't seem to score, and an otherwise pretty good D will, as you say, find a way to make a bad play.

I was hoping for a Lions/Panther Championship game. Oh well on that one. Well, we ain't out of it quite yet. Why not?

Look at the end of the day the media coverage doesn't hurt us individually. We can ignore it. But it has a very big effect in reality. Sponsorships, Pro Bowl Voting, MVP voting, and Hall of Fame voting. All of these are affected by public opinion and the media controls that nationally. When I visit my family up north I have to defend Cam because their opinions are formed based on the national media. The only good things they see from him are the highlight reels. They don't see any of the positive stuff in the community or his positive press conferences. Every time a Heisman trophy candidate has character concerns they start comparing them to Cam.

Just to sum it up, the media is the gate keeper to awards like the MVP and the Hall of Fame. Cam is completely in control of his on the field success but the media controls his legacy.

This is a little out of left field, but I was watching the Colts/Seahawks game from earlier this year a few minutes ago (great game by the way) and they were talking about Luck's legacy at Stanford. Many of you may already know this, but Luck and his family gave some money to Stanford in the offseason with the stipulation that from now on, the OC position would henceforth be titled "The Andrew Luck Offensive Coordinator at Stanford University".

And people think Cam has a big ego?
