Sometimes I wonder why some Qbs get a pass from the media

He also has Scott fugging Lehmann as his OC. Can you even name a Lion other than Megatron, Suh, Bush, or Stafford?

Other than the Iggles game, the D has played well this year. The play calling is atrocious. Great first drive, then go all conservative. No imagination. Then expect Matt to bail him out at the end of games. I expect the Lions to change OC's after the year. It would help Matt and the O out greatly.

Uniformed opinions are the bane of the internet.

Matt has thrown for over 15,000 yards the last 3 years. Calvin has about 6,000 of those yards. Explain where those other 9,000 yards go. Yeah, thought not.

Some of you have a hard enough time talking intelligently about the Panthers. Maybe you should stay in your comfort zone, and leave the Lions to those who actually have a clue.

Oh well, I guess my dream of a Panthers/Lions Championship game will have to be put on hold for another year. Fugging Lehmann.

I think the point many are making is, the media on one hand will say that team's wins is always tributed to the QB so he should also receive the blame when the teams don't play well. But on the other hand, they will go out of their way to put the entire team under the microscope when it comes to the more preferred QBs like Matthew, Sam, Luck, Brady and even Eli not playing well. They are not being singled out and scape-goated as the problem of their teams as the media would with QBs like Cam, Dalton, and Geno. If any big deal is made at all, it's more in regards to the team and what they need to do to help those QBs.

Eli has 25 Ints this season. Matthew isn't far behind. The media barely harps on Matt's TD/Int ratio but it's not pretty. But the pressure isn't so much on Matt as it is on the players like Megatron to step up and help him. I have yet to hear anyone in the media demand any of the Panthers Receivers or RBs step up to help Cam when the team was struggle. Nope, it was all about Cam and his "deicision making" and "maturity" issues and how perfect he needs to get.

Stafford makes stupid decisions with his throws all the time, that is the point of what I said. The media doesn't harp on stafford's decision making almost at all.

Stafford gets one of the biggest passes I've ever seen. He has freaking megatron yet he still hasn't done poo in the playoffs and has a losing record as a starter.

Could you imagine Cam with Megatron? Lol...

I like Stafford, but Megatron rescues him so much.

As to the media...

The media buys its own hype/poo talk about players to an obscene extent.  But it has to, or it loses credibility.  Building the narrative allows networks like ESPN to maintain an audience etc.

I wouldn't speak of uninformed opinions if I were you. In a long list, you're up there at times just based on my short time here. So please, save it.

The fact is you don't a clue. Stop pretending you know better. Lion fans are echoing the identical flaws and concerns were pointing out. So... in that case, you know more than Lion fans of their own team now?

Oh snap. I guess you told me.

"Stafford has Megatron and one of the best DLs in the NFL. How he gets a pass for throwing games away while Cam gets crucified for an overthrow is beyond me."

This quote tells me everything I need to know about your...insight...of the Lions, and football in general. Proof that a little is a dangerous thing.

You call it "A pass", I call it apathy.

Let me explain. Cam gets crucified for only one reason. Fear. Fear of what he has done. But more for what he is going to do. Those few, those unfortunate few, are missing out on something special. Stafford, as well as he has, and will do, just illicit that type of fear. Hence, he gets less attention, when things don't go well.

Plus, it is the Lions we are talking about. I mean, outside of Lions fans, who really cares?

Now, back to you.

I have been a Lions fan for probably longer than you have been alive. But...as you are so well informed, please enlighten me. Just what are Lions fans carping about? Other than Megatron and that D-line?

See, this is what Lions fans have to put up with. "Stupid decisions all the time". Dude... really?

You see a couple of games, maybe a high-lite or two, and you can say unequivocally you know Staffords game.

Kids, ya gotta love em'.

Get Cam a Calvin...Yup.

That would be worth the price of admission my friend.

IMO, if Cam would not have been so honest coming out of College, he may have garnered a few more media types to his side. They were afraid of him to begin with. Then when he came off so confident and self assured. It just scared them even more.

Cam wasn't as polished as some of the college QBs that had more time to learn. He was learning on the fly. Some just wouldn't let him be a kid in a situation he was unfamiliar with. But hey, it's all water under the bridge.

By the by iamhubby, I like how you managed to somehow make it appear as if The Lions are lacking in various departments just because you can only name four Lions. Can any Lion fan name any player outside Cam, Luke, Star, Smitty and Olsen? Gee, I wonder why we're 10-4 then.

And you speak of intelligence? The Lions are a classic case of individualism. You don't need a recognizable name at every position to be a winner.

Stafford's OC has nothing to do with his undisciplined play and crappy decision-making.

Can any fan of one team name a bunch of players from any other team? Poor example if you ask me.

Yup. You are right. No OC in the league has an effect on how the QB plays. C'mon dude.

So stafford throwing those picks in the monday night football game was not stupid? Ok...

The media likes to pick winners and losers. Then they don't want to admit when they are wrong. Finally they give in, but always bring up the BS they created in the first place.

you are probably right to a certain degree. But ultimately, the media will talk about the players that the majority of fans want to hear about, and they will write the stories that keep them coming back for more.

Welp, my plane is boarding. Happy Holidays to you all.

Fugging Lions. Let me down yet again. I just knew this was going to be "The Year".

I realize as a lifelong Lions fan, you know more about that team than most. As an outside observer, what I see in Stafford is a guy with a lot of arm talent but someone very careless with the ball.

To me, the Lions are an undisciplined team top to bottom. That applies to ball security, penalties, etc. The environment is set by the head coach, so were I the Ford's, it would be time to look for a new head coach.

I also believe Stafford has struggled because the Lions haven't had a great running game for a few years, forcing him to try to do too much. With good coaching, he could probably be one of the top QB's in the league.

Reggie bush has been great for the lions this year outside of injuries and fumbles but stafford is still careless with the ball.
