What's the point of Kenjon Barner?

i understand that but you are talking about the best scatbacks in the league.

it's ok to question whether or not he will be able to pass protect sufficiently

I think being a good fit is also important....being a good fit IMO is largely responsible for the success/failure of many players.

For example, Cam nor our offense would take advantage of Sproles like Brees/NO do.  Instead of pass protecting, they really just have built in quick throws often to counter that pressure.  We more likely would ask the RB to stay in and block instead.

can't risk it when he has fumbled a good bit.

I see your point but, Is it riskier than going for it on fourth down how Rivera has been doing lately? Don't get me wrong, I'm not too high on Barner. I just think the whole hes not worth the "risk" argument is bologna.  You don't keep "risks" on your 53 man roster.

I never understood the up and arms the huddle got over this kid. He lost his job tot he black mamba and doesn't really do anything special. he's nothing more than a situational/ special teams player.

False. And what's wrong with having a "situational" player? Look at the Pats (Vereen) and Saints (Sproles/Thomas) with the way they use their RBs. In no way am I saying Barner is at that point now, but when we drafted him I assumed he would get that type of role and he really should because I don't see him succeeding in the NFL otherwise. He has not taken advantage of his opportunities thus far, but its tough when you can't get any rhythm going from the lack of snaps. Im hoping he is used more in empty sets and what not moving towards the playoffs because it would really add something to our traditional approach. In the end I just think he needs more time to grow as an NFL back and hopefully this offseason he gets it together.

Why are we ripping our 6th round rookie draft pick during our best season in 5 years?

b/c as a fanbase we have been brainwashed into thinking RB is the end all be all......and not just your starter but every RB on your roster should of starting beastmode caliber.  Quadruple Trouble!!!
