What's the point of Kenjon Barner?

He's a rookie, let's give him a chance to settle in before we pass judgement.

I think one thing he's still trying to adapt to is the speed of the game, he was used to being one of the faster guys on the field and he's learning he can no longer rely purely on his speed (both linear and lateral).

Stewart and Williams haven't been hurt at the same time.

That gives us Cam, Tolbert and half of Double Trouble....ALL ready to go every game of this season.  That has been our worst case scenario.    That is 3 legit rushers every game ahead of him.

Right on. Plus the fact that we are in the playoff hunt and a legit contender is a reason that Barner and Brandon Williams haven't been on the field more. The team is not worried about evaluating players for depth next year(nor should it be), if we were 5-9 or 6-8 I have a feeling they would be playing more. Also a big part of a RB getting on the field is their pass protection and we have no idea how far along he is on that. It is  crazy to write him off already. We have no idea what he is yet

It's obvious they don't trust him in a big game yet.

it is also obvious....there is little reason to show whether they do or don't.

Cam, Tolbert, Williams and Stewart......all deserve there rush reps ahead of him.  They also deserve there snaps for what they do when we audible out of runs.

With the logjam we have at running back I would rather us try to work some plays for Brandon Williams than Barner. Put him in as an H-back like we did with Shockey TE screens, or something. Delanie Walker snuck up last year and helped the Niners during their playoff run last year, we could use that.  If we can get the bye week I hope we hit our first playoff game with something the other teams haven't game planned for

Assuming we win this week, I'd love to see him get a larger role against the Falcons.

We still would need to win against the Falcons to lock up the division.  I mean they are garbage this season but I wouldn't throw in back ups to see what we got.

I would imagine pass protection is keeping him out as well.....

I do find it odd he had a designed play against Seattle (Cam missed him wideopen).....never to be seen again
