Just Cam Being Awesome (Again)

Cam was the only one introduced without a name tag.

Not sure what that means. But being in a different media market, it's hilarious to hear about how much Cam has 'matured' and that's the reason Panthers are winning.

It's almost like these guys all have the same song sheet they sing off of. Dierdorf used the word "maturing" in reference to Cam within the first few minutes of the Jet game. Doesn't matter the network or the announcer, they all use the same story line.

And has anyone heard the term "sophomore slump" applied even once to RGIII?

I just find this whole thing fascinating in a clinical way.

Agreed, when Dierdoff referenced this alleged "maturing", he was discussing Cam sliding/getting out of harms way of the defender early in the first Qtr.

The Irony; as every Panther fan knows: Cam always avoided being hit, from the moment he entered the NFL. Newton, never "matured" or sought contact his first few years like RG3 or Kaepernick.

And yeah, I've yet to hear the word "Sophomore Slump" uttered with Griffin or Kaepernick either. Yeah, they may use every other word or descriptions (many negative quotes via other people), but never the [dreaded] Sophomore Slump label from themselves.

The irony is: Cam's sophomore year, is/was 10 X better than RG3 from a personal and team perspective, and certainly was better than Kaepernick from a individual perspective.

Now the pundits are saying "AH HAH, Kaepernick wasn't in a slump! He was just missing Michael Crabtree!". Crabtree would make Cam a better player too but Cam does what he can with what he has.

Except Kaepernick technically didn't even play a full season until weeks 6 or 7, so sophmore slump wouldn't make any sense.

Except Crabtree was widely viewed as a bust before Kaepernick took the reigns from Alex Smith.  It's not even close. In fact without Kaepernick, Crabtree wouldnt be viewed as an elite WR from anyone outside the bay area, and even within there too.

Yeah I guess. Alex Smith can't get Dwayne Bowe the ball either.

It's funny, I don't think the media recognizes how good Cam has been this year, Damn statistics.

Cam has been playing behind an ever changing OL, a inconsistent run game, with average wide outs, and his been asked to change his style of passing due to the bad OL. And guess what? He's been successful, and the team is 11-4.

If you wanted to see what could have happened to Cam, just look at Multi-Superbowl winning QB, Eli Manning.

His offensive line, and run game is faulty like Cam's (and he has better wide outs). But Eli, hasn't adjusted to shorter and intermediate throws, cause that's not his strength, while Cam (despite some Huddlers') has largely prospered doing this.

He doesn't get nearly enough credit, for how well he and the team has played, with what he was given.
