Brandon Lafell - Ooh Wee Mayne

Watching Lafell struggle as a big physical guy makes you wonder how those franchise caliber receivers do it week in and week out. What do they have that Lafell doesn't. Those players' been catching footballs since kids and probably catch thousands in the jug machine, but on game day they do everything but catch the football. Don't get it.

 

Well 2-3" for one thing. Lafell is middle of the pack at 6'2". Guys like AJ Green, Megatron, Alshon Jeffrey are taller and with longer arms. He's also on the slow side for a receiver. Fast enough, barely.

It's a little ironic that some of you would come down so hard on a guy that just had one of his best games... I say, keep it up, Donald, you're getting warm at the perfect time!!!

It really comes down to attitude and desire that separate the great ones and the rest. 

 

Steve smith - I'm going to be the best. I'm going fug up those defenders. They aren't taking me down. This attitude gives you great focus and concentration. It is also what makes steve smith so great. 

 

Lafell - I personally don't know how Lafell is like in person but it seems to me hes more like

This is probably why Lafell drops so many balls because he lacks focus and desire to be the best. Until he changes that attitude he isn't going to be significantly better. 

 

I would like to see us resign him at an average contract tho.

6'0"-6'3" are like standard for franchise receivers.

Justin Blackmon 6'1"

Josh Gordon 6'3"

Andre Johnson 6'3"

Dez Bryant 6'2". Yep, same height as Lafell.

 

Lafell might lack everything but height is not one of them.

So the question is, when he said he was the best blocking wr on the team. . does anyone doubt that? 89 will crush fools in the open field these days still but I dont know if he couldve pulled off what the Don did there.

89 will lay out the better highlight bone crusher these days.....LaFell IMO is more consistant. LaFell always look to engage. 89 seems to take more off or be late to the party. That isn't a knock bc 89 does a better job blocking than most WRs . LaFell seems to know that he is big part to why he sees the field

LaFell is actually our #3 receiver.  Greg Olsen is 1 and Smith is 2.  If we put Hixon in LaFell's place, i really dont think there would be that big a drop of play.

sure there would be....which is why LaFell is playing.  Williams long TD last week....doesn't happen with Hixon on the field.
