Question about the TV coverage for the Jets game

Wondering how it went since this was a CBS....AFC crew.  Did they sound as if the knew anything about the Panthers beyond a couple of stats they read the day before?

 

 

 

By the way....anyone know if Billick is doing next week's game?  We need him.

I got the impression from watching the game that at least the one guy (the guy who complimented Donald on his catch in traffic) had watched quite a bit of our games. He seemed content to spend the entire game calling out individuals for their performance in relation to previous games. I don't doubt his comments on LA stemmed from previous game film.

 

Other than that, I enjoyed their constant questioning of Holmes and the position he put himself in.

I like Dan Dierdorf and Gumble is ok but he has to force/fain excitement on a big play. He just sounds unnatural when he gets demonstrative. Dan did call a few wrong names but it happens. Never really focused on the announcers tho so it was ok.

Dan Dierdorf is really, really old. So, it goes without saying that he's not going to remember every single player's name, jersey number, etc. He did alright, but he's been known to not be very good. Gumble is meh. They did seem to at least have watched Panthers games before, which was nice.

Thought they did the 4pm games.  Aikman has had the Panthers as a top rated team all season.

lol....Dan is 64 yrs old.  That may have been really, really, old about 1900, but not now.

It was Greg Gumble and Dan Dierdorf...vet crew and even though their #2 to Simms/Nantz I think they're better...then again I just like Greg Gumble

I couldn't hear the commentary but I think CBS is way better than Fox in all aspects of coverage.

I couldnt agree more. It wasnt long ago that Fox was by far the best but they have gotten lazy and CBS's production is miles ahead now.

And yeah CBS's picture is much sharper without a doubt. I noticed it immediately when I switched it over to the Saints/Rams game, I thought my eyes were going fuzzy.

I think you can hear more of the crowd on the FOX broadcasts. I kept texting my daughter to yell louder because the  crowd didn't sound loud on the tv. She said everyone was standing and yelling loud lol.

 

Except for the Billick broadcasts (because I like the way he points things out & explains more of what the coach was probably thinking), I prefer the CBS broadcasts.

Hes an old 60 though. Multiple hip replacements, concussions from playing, etc.
