Rex knew he wasn't going to win the game but wanted to make Richardson's season look even better for the DROY race and have him go up the middle against maybe his biggest competition for the award?

I liked the play call (didn't like the result). Rex is a good coach. Reminded me a lot of when we used to have Pep line up on GL situations.

I'm sure they put that play in this week specifically for just that scenario. You know...just in case they had a goal line play so they could run it in against Star.

He's 300 lbs. pretty tough to tackle when he only needs a yard. Made sense to me

I thought it was cool to semi match up two DROY candiates against each other, although obviously Richardson gets the advantage of an Oline in front of him.  He's 300 lbs and athletic, why not try to smash him in.

Not sure what to think. They never ran that before and then back to back goal line carries for a DT. Not really a diss but they were having some success on the ground. Put the big guy in and slam it. Now that I talk it out it just seems like good football.

So...almost 30 years ago Papa Ryan ran this exact play with a DT called "The Fridge". It is not a new play, it is a play that has been used many times through the years.

It was not put in too embarrass Star.

Yeah I didn't think it worked well at all. The second time they should have faked to Richardson and had one of their agile RBs dive over the pile. Trent was lucky to inch over the line.
