Does Lafell's highs make up for his lows?

Donald LaFell

Recommended Posts

He made some huge plays today and I'm sure he's well regarded by his team members.

His draft profile still fits his career perfectly.

Catches balls he shouldn't, drops balls he shouldn't.

Surprising shiftiness in open field.

Great blocker.

He's a FA after this season, and personally I think we can afford to pass on him. I feel like we can find anybody to drop easy passes and we shouldn't hang on to guys who do.

If he wants to come back at a deal that reflects his inconsistency and compete that's fine, he's a good panther. I trust Gettleman won't give him a Hurney deal,

"Lapses in concentration"

Under his weaknesses in his draft profile.

I think that describes him perfectly. Has some "wtf" moments. Good blocker though and like today when his number was called he made some big plays.

He shouldn't still have the concentration problem, and if he was going to fix that he would have by now. I like LaFell and have made it known, just waiting for him to step up in a big game. Next weekend he'll get another chance I suppose.

No,  he had a solid game today but he'd still be 4-5th wr on most playoff contenders.  The drops the failing to get open.

Cam's rook season, he was 6th on the team in reception.  No Way a #2 should Ever have numbers like that.

    • Which is more believable? Joe Person actually has reliable inside sources or Juan really doesn't know how to embed tweets?
    • I'm on team trade back. 1. Walter Nolan is our missing link with a healthy DB. 2. I like Ayomanor as a more complete receiver than Isiah Bond.  EA's down field blocking is nasty, and he is field fast as opposed to 40 yard dash fast. 3. Donovan is a solid pass rush specialist. 4. Landon Jackson would provide both versatility as an Edge setter and rotational DE for our odd front. 5. Thomas is a great CB option to develop behind both Mjax and Horn 6. Schwesinger being available here would give Morgan a mile stroke of happiness. 7.  Jaylin Noell is a great speed/slot guy that could learn a ton from AT. 8. Ollie Gordon would be the perfect power compliment to Chuba. 9. Reed would be a solid developmental safety that played well after Winston's injury. 10. Conyers is an athletic freak.  Put him behind Sanders and Tremble. 11. GCL = developmental tackle.
    • Not working on Moton's deal means the door is open to anything. That's a positive. Hell just keeping him and not pushing cap into dead years is a win given the recent contracts they were giving out. It's a little difficult for me to swallow a teade and replace by draft for Moton. On one side it's being proactive with keeping the oline good and getting a rookie on a rookie deal vs an aging vet on a bloated last year witg last years sognings, that cap can be reallocated to other places. On the other hand it's focusing on the one strength while doing nada to improve the vast weaknesses they have elsewhere. Whatever they would potentially trade him for would have to be worth the risk of trying to replace him before he really needed to be replaced IMO. Sounds Maden easy theoretically but could easily backfire hard. Edit: The posible knee situation is a real wrench in the spokes.
