Shula's play calling was not HORRIBLE, just okay

I was very pleased with the offense today. The 4th down call was bad imo. You take the points vs. the Jets.

I don't think the actual decision to go for it was a bad idea. The team was driving and Ron wanted to capitalize on the momentum.

The playcall, on the other hand, was ludicrous. A 4th and two play that requires Cam to sit in the pocket long enough to get hit from behind is not a good play for that situation.

We beat a defense that is prob better than ours with a offense that is prob not better than the Jets. So yea he did a good job. Not enough cred is given to the coaches for hiding all the weak points of our team.

and there are a lot of weak points.

Um, our defence is absolutely better than theirs and our offence is better at pretty much every single position except maybe RT (I don't know who theirs is but he can't really be worse than Bell) and C might be a push...maybe LT too. WAY better at the most important position - QB.

You remembered one overthrow from an entire game? No wonder not that many people on the game thread today. There weren't much Cam negatives to create thread on, uh? Let me ask you this, no QBs complete 100% of their passes this weekend, how do you think those in-completions happen? Some overthrows, some under-throws, some too far ahead, some behind. Which one is more acceptable for you.

Seriously! One overthrow is what stuck in your mind?

The original post mentioned the red zone and Shula's play calling. I mentioned a play in the red zone.

That overthrow on a wide open screen is inexcusable.

Two weeks in a row he overthrows an awful lob that could get picked easily.

Apparently he is the first, and last quarterback to ever overthrow a pass.

It might be time to see what Derek Anderson has left in the tank guys.
