DD stole my response. you can't necessarily judge a receiver by a single bad season still in progress (not all the time anyway.) he's on pace for 971 yards this season... a big play more and he's over a thousand.

I would love to have Nicks on the roster, I believe that he would provide a fantastic target for Cam, but only if the price is right.  If its anymore than 3-4 mil a year, I'll pass.  With that said, if we give Lafell 5 mill a year, then I'll be convinced that Gettleman is doing massive amounts of Salvia.

surely there are other potential FA WRs on the market next off-season,  that would be just as solid a #1 as Nicks may be,  but...........more durable?

Will say again, I'm not a fan of getting big name receivers in free agency. They just hardly ever seem to live up to the contracts they get.

I'm not convinced Nicks can be a #1 WR either. If he continues to be injured and banged up he's not going to get anymore separation than the guys we already have. He wouldn't be that much better than LaFell. We need a guy who can dominate a game. I'm all for it if the price is right but even if we grab Nicks I'd still be for drafting a WR.
