From a competitive standpoint nothing beats Counter Strike 1.6.  All this ranking up crap and unlocking weapons is just fluff they add to make sure people keep spending $60 ever year or two.

not that i disagree.  i'd rather play killing floor than most of the garbage FPS dominating the market.  rehashed garbage with minimal content...until the next MUST HAVE DLC!

I used to play in the ladder days of CS 1.5... ahh memories. I still go back everyonce and awhile to play either Source or Global Offensive. Also a huge Day of Defeat fan. So many hours poured into that game heh.

my only issue with cs is its so very base...which is exactly why it is so great.  i'd rather sink my time into ut2004 or tf2 for the variety.  but it blows any CoD out of the water.

Exactly, it was completly even and simple. My only gripe was AWP heh. But even before steam i cannot imagine how many hours i sunk into CS 1.5 i was doing tournaments almost won a trip to LA with my clan, This was years before MLG (Major Leauge Gaming) started.

I don't really game much anymore, but the Steam Box looks intriguing to me. I'd probably buy that over either of the new consoles.

neither of them are as good as tf2

 

halo is fun if you like your action slow and sparse, with shitty hit detection.   when halo has dedicated servers, you'll be able to mention it without being laughed at by pc gamers.

I just love how you always try to make some sort of point that you have no clue about.  all your halo comments at least where H4 is concerned are so far off the mark they do not deserve a respectable response.  There is not argument to be had when your half of it is pure unfounded BS.

 

Now if you used that description for BF4 on the 360 I'd agree with you full heartedly, but for Halo 4? I've crapped things that could have made a better argument.

 

BF4 has dedicated servers, and they suck ask anyone that plays the game, the game since launch, the game has been a total joke, now with that said it's finally been patched up now and is finally playable and I do enjoy a good mil-sim shooter.

Thanks to these and other enlightening discussions, I now tend to treat gaming preferences like politics, religion, and family. Politely accept differing opinions because folks get passionate, get worked up, and can be ugly.

Take Porn Shop Clerk. I don't agree with him on many things, I know there is little point in arguing with him. He has his opinion, but it didn't hurt me. I still love the Halo games. 4 is up there with Reach for me.

Opinions are like buttholes. We all have them, and we all think yours stinks!

That being said, anyone with new stuff about Steam? Other than it weekends for all the Linux games in Stream and is still buggy in areas?

you can't even begin to compare bf4's dedicated servers to what pc gamers enjoy on all of their FPS titles.
