Is Kemba the long term answer at PG?

1) I said Chris Paul in the same circumstances (ie second year in the league, second head coach [Mike Dunlap]). I only said prime Deron Williams because he sucks now.

2) You aren't really arguing that a David West-Tyson Chandler combo is as bad as a Byron Mullens-Bismack Biyombo combo are you?

no it is not but tyson was like a taller Biyombo back then

Kemba with 24 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block in the win over SacTown...

Fans also started chanting "MVP" in the waning moments as Kemba put the game on ice with some free throws.

Silly fans, Kemba's proved he should be nothing more then a 6th man this season. His occasional good shooting performance and point outburst being an exception to his normal play of shooting 34% from the field and not being able to run an offense effectively.

The Fans that chanted MVP, were right in front of our seats.  They were wearing throw back Hornets jersey's and really into the game most of the night.  We could use more of those kind of fans.  First time I'v heard fans chant MVP for any player, and not be mocking them.  ALA Matt Carroll, Byron Mullens, or Bismack.

Kemba had a 5 game slump after Metta Ron Artest destroyed Kemba's shoulder. Outside of those 5 games, Kemba has shot 44% from the field and 34% from 3. Keep in mind that he is the guy that ends up with the ball in his hands late in the shot clock and at the end of the quarters. He shoots around 2 of those a game or more with the shot/game clock on his back. Obviously, those would bring his numbers down a tad.

He also has about 3-4 passes per game that sets a teammate up in their "sweet spot" with a wide open shot, only to be clanked.

I see Kemba more of a Tony Parker than a Jason Terry/Nate Robinson. In Parker's first 7 seasons, his highest numbers were 18.9 points and 6.1 assists (not in the same year). Kemba, in his 2nd year, went 17.7 points and 5.7 assists, basically average Parker numbers for the first several years in the league. He did all this with a rookie MKG, Byron Mullens, and Bismack Biyombo as his starting 3-4-5.

Kemba is far and away the leader of this team. He puts the scoring load on his back when he needs to and is as clutch as anyone that's ever played in Charlotte. I fully believe he is the long term answer at PG.

29 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 assist...

Now averaging...

17.8 points per game

4.4 assists per game

4.0 rebounds per game

1.5 steals per game

Ranked 10th in the NBA in point guard scoring

Ranked 9th in the NBA in point guard rebounding

Ranked 2nd in the NBA in point guard blocking

Might as well trade him...
