Do you think without KK we would be a top 5 defense? Yes or No?

Do you think if Fua was in there we would be?

i think you are forgetting all of the big impact plays KK has made this year. so no i dont know for SURE but i could see us slipping.  Anchoring that line has turned us into a top 5 defense.

I'm going to say this and then I'm going to leave it alone. I didn't make this thread just because Keenan is another young WR playing good football. He was unique to us.

Ron Rivera was the only head coach to attend his pro day. They both went to Cal.

Ricky Proehl, our wr coach, hosted his pro day. He threw to him at that proday AND spent time with him at the combine. And had a private workout with him.

This wasn't just some young wr I'm the draft. This was a guy that is from NC that we spent a lot of time with and got to know very well.

This was a guy we clearly passed on even after spending so much time with him. If it was because we wanted KK cool I'll get behind that. If it was because we didn't have a 3rd fine. If it was because we were hoping he fell to us and it didn't work out well hey that's life. BUT if we passed on him because we were invested in Armanti Edwards and David Gettis, well that would be concerning. Don't forget we have two more young wrs we picked up. How do we know we aren't looking at these guys as the reason we go another year without grabbing a WR.

I'm done crucify me all you want.

He does look great no doubt and we've been trying to right this new Receiver thing since forever now and still haven't done it... that said I don't have a problem with how G man went....

But let me ask you which should should he deal with in the draft next year in the first two rounds..... Do you go Right Tackle, CB or Wide receiver next year? Which one do you want to wait till the third round for?

our WR are not the problem, in fact they are playing good. the reason our numbers are not high is we are spreading the ball around perfectly. That is why it become hard for the opposing defense to know what is coming. If we had him, here he would have less yard then smith olsen and lafell. those guys are doing a good job. Also our scheme is not the old chud scheme of chucking it downfeild either so with that and the almost even spread of the ball no one has great numbers. We are getting wins we just dont have the explosive system to highlight them. Now we do need to draft a legit number 1 cause smitty is not as good as he once was. but even in this system dont expect great numbers from any new wr. untill we have the OL to let cam get more time for downfeild attacks we will continue to run the dink and dunk with heavy run game.

Oh no its most def the scheme because denver spreads the ball around too and have almost 3 1000 yard wrs and 3 people with double digit tds their 3rd wideout (welker) has more yards and tds than our number 1

go ahead and crucify me? lol

you throw around your supposed supreme knowledge and then backpedaled in that last post when people called you out when you gave one-sided answers. you trash KK and post hypotheticals as facts.

if i thought for one minute that they didn't draft allen or any WR because of getttis and armanti then i would have lost complete faith in this organization. I'm an armanti homer and thought after training camp he had turned the corner to "contribute" but i never thought for one second that he or gettis were the answers to our WR struggles. and if gman and rivera thought they were then they would be idiots.

this year has proven that they are not idiots and have a plan to make this team a playoff contender year in and year out.

All depends on how the board falls. Could go TE if Ebron is sitting there. Tackle is probably least likely imo. Value just won't be there...

    • i think i go in the opposite direction of most. my ideal retirement is living in some old downtown area in a flat above some shop or something.  life out in the country was just something i got real tired of. My kids actually miss some of living out there, which i understand. that was where they grew up for the most part. 40 acres with a 2.5 acre pond. it was beautiful, but also way too much (and too expensive) for me to keep up with.
    • FLASHBACK: I remember back when ESPN was just starting--he was their anchor.  They used to show stuff like Rodeo and field hockey--I remember laughing when he went to a commercial mocking a cycling competition in Utah (or something similar--I made that up) and I laughed.  I told my dad, "We may have us a new anchor when we get back from commercial."  When they came back from commercial, Berman was looking very serious and he said, "Any comments by me do not reflect the views of ESPN....The men and women who cycle are dedicated athletes and we are honored to shine light on their sport." (Paraphrasing).  Dad laughed hysterically. My first memory of him--and that was like 1980.
    • Might not have a team without them. Although that probably applies to the Panthers, too.
