Smith didn't - Edwards did. Injuries also played a part in Allen's meteoric rise in San Diego.

 

I just think that given the circumstances that happened to your team, Short was likely better pick than Allen (just like as much as I wanted Star at 11 the way things have fallen since, Fluker was probably the better pick for us)

Keenan Allen wasn't just some player like many of you keep suggesting. We showed a large amount of interest in him, probably more interest than any other team. How many players can we say our own damn position coach participated AND hosted their pro day? If you would take KK over Allen in a redraft your just dumb. We didn't take a WR because of mvp Edwards and LVP Gettis, and then they get cut.

Keenan Allen is in the rookie of the year discussion. KK is a rotational player. We could have drafted Geno Smith in the 2nd round and you guys would argue it was the right pick

What if KK becomes a perennial All-pro and our defense is top 5 for the next 5-7 years? Would that make him more valuable?

 

You see you don't know anything just like i dont know anything. Both the players are premier talents. But it's too early to say who is more beneficial to OUR team.

If we would have had a 3rd round pick Keenan may have very well been a Panther.  So you can add this to the Hurney list.  Other than that.  I like what we got goin on here.  I want to see another draft full of contributors just like this past year.  If we can get the same level of talent out of the draft at our positions of need next year we will be looking good for quite a while.

I was going to start a topic like this, but I figured it was beating a dead horse, which it is. But it kind of pains me that we missed here. Allen was a solid answer to our receiving corps woes.

 

We really have to pull the trigger in FA or in the draft, and most likely we will have to double down. The offense needs legitimate weapons, we can't keep kicking the can down the road.
