Sheldon Richardson "making" some noise. Says he'd go #1 in re-do

top dawg

I keep seeing Huddlers saying "Richardson is good...surprisingly"

This is why you do not work in an NFL office and post on the internets. These GMs, scouts and most draft experts are kinda ok at this.

There's busts and steals every year.  Always has been, always will be.  If we can't sit around and talk out of our asses about baseless speculation, then what's the point of this board?

Admittedly, I've really only paid close attention to one Jet game, and that was the last one against Oakland.

At least in that game, Richardson didn't really stand out to me. The ones that did were Coples (rush LB'er) and Pace (DL).

The Jets have a damn good front 7 and can create lots of pressure. Luckily, their offense is not too scary.

Richardson has 66 tackles and 3.5 sacks. Excellent numbers for a DT, not to mention a rookie DT.

Well his numbers are abnormal to us because he's really paying DE in a lot of their packages, so I wouldn't really count him as a DT.  Nonetheless, it would be hard to argue that he or Star wouldn't get #1 overall if there was a redraft, at least a redraft based upon immediate impact.  At the same time, I couldn't tell you if Eric Fisher and Luke Jockel are doing well or not.

He's a defensive lineman in a 3 man front. His production isn't supposed to be expressed in stats

Good point.

Please don't tell me he'll be lined up against bell

Yeah, I wasn't really speaking from a stats standpoint. It had more to do with the eyeball test as to whether or not he was disruptive, and how he did versus the run.

For at least that 1 game, he didn't really stand out in either area. I'm sure he's had plenty of other games in which he did.
