On the ledge

even if we have peaked this year, we've seen this team and this coaching staff improve a lot and it's obvious that its still on it's way up.

i don't think the window has closed on this season at all, but that is a definite possibility. the window on this team is only beginning to crack open. this team is going to be good for a very long time. what we saw this year with this team at it's best is only a glimpse of what is to come.

if you are on the ledge, quit looking down and just sit down, look out, and enjoy the view. no need to jump. life can be beautiful from the edge and can end up giving you a better and less obstructed perspective if you take the long view.

Let's take a look at the start of the year to now:

  • Patch work O line
  • Patch work secondary
  • third year QB
  • New coaches
  • New GM
  • losses in the fourth quarters
  • Beason as a LB
  • Lafell on a milk carton
  • Newton's leadership skills in question
  • GM that didn't understand the value of the draft

and then we start to win in the forth quarter in a couple of games and put together the longest winning streak in our history.

Expecting a Saints win in NOLA this year was insane, having a better game...sure. But there is a confidence this team has in itself that we haven't had in several seasons and we're much closer to being a complete team than anyone expected after our start.

The next challenge for this new team is to bounce back like pros, correct mistakes and play to win every quarter. I believe we have a core group that can do that and are ready to lead this team this year and in the future.

I'm very proud of this team and will support them even in loses, they work hard and are talented. River boat will still make mistakes but i like him too, a solid guy and ex player that the team respects...my kind of team.

A little Panther Pride will get us through the rough spots

Damn, Rayzor, you went all philosopher-psychologist with that last line. If I didn't have years of experience with you in this forum, I'd have thought that you stole it, but it sounds too much like you.

That may be the most meaningful thing that I have read on this board...ever (except for some of my musings, of course ***LOL***). Thought provoking, really.

We won enough games to make us a threat, but I wouldn't say our team has hit its stride yet.  This is especially true on offense.

I feel, if we can get the offense rolling over the next couple weeks, we can enter the playoffs hot and have as good a chance as anybody.  We really need the offense to start clicking though.

The passes that net -3 to 2 yards on offense have to stop.  There is no way that is a productive method of offensive football, especially when you consider that 30% of them are dropped........
