I don't believe Amini was Hurney's choice, but more so Rivera's choice. I say this because of how highly Rivera spoke of him, and also because the following year the Panthers repeated the same mistake in drafting Kugz. I fear another wasted pick next year. He's not fast anymore. Or explosive. Smitty at this point is the league's best 5'9" possession receiver. Not his fault though, he just got old.

It's hard to throw downfield when there's a DE coming on the right side as soon as the ball is snapped.

Alshon was a little over weight his last year at South Carolina, yet to his credit he slimmed down and got in shape for the combine if I remember correctly.  I definitely would have drafted him in the second round the year he came out.  Of course there were a lot of guys I would have drafted at that spot.  Amini was nowhere near one of them.  Most nobody didn't even know who he was.  I have to believe Jon Gruden and the announcers were scrambling for some records on Amini when they heard his name.

I just got a bad feeling, Gettleman might go defense again. We got holes but with a front 7 this good i dont why you use a top pick on D again. Get some good veteran DBs in FA our offense is getting old ineffective outside of Cam.
