If you get no joy with the cops you can try your local HSUS office.  They might help you with determining who is shooting the cat and can help pressure local LEO.

it might have just been a coincidence but, I was talking to my dad about how we caught her standing outside our fence *we live on a farm* We asked her what she was doing and she said "Oh just walking around" then she talked about nonsense for 10 straight minutes. My mom overheard this and said she had found an old cool whip container with some brown/yellow mush, right where she was standing on the edge of our yard.

 

Like I said, it might just be a coincidence but, you never know..

Just talked to the lady, she seemed sincerely shocked when we told her what had happened, I'm very good at reading people. I'm really confused now.. my property is very vast and I have very few neighbors and she is the closest one. My cat rarely if ever will leave the yard.

 

Unless she is a great liar I don't know.. I guess the cat will be an indoor cat full time after all.

eta: easier solution - keep cat inside to kill dryer snakes. get dog to kill their cat & guard your bricks

Welp, someone still shot the poor little guy. Going to ask around the neighborhood today to see if anyone has seen anything or had problems with their pets.
