im trying to figure out the irony

Jets are in the air that's where they're at their best, however this jets team struggles to stop opponents through the air (24th in pass defense). They're better against the ground game (2nd), when Jets are pretty useless on the ground.

We didn't have that much of a run game coming into this game. I expect more of the same from the panthers.

so... 29th vs 24th for the Panthers passing game, 9th vs 2nd for the Panthers running game

 

meanwhile... 24th vs 5th Jets passing game, 11th vs 1st for the Jets running game

 

this has the makings of a defensive battle where Carolina comes out ahead by virtue of a better defense. i dont think our offensive gameplan matters too much. do what we've done all season AS LONG AS our D shows up. if the D doesnt show, this could be scary. when our D doesnt show, neither does our O. best advice if the D doesnt show... fug it and find some way to win. oh and fire Don Shula as soon as the season/playoffs are over.

I just hope Rivera doesn't go all Buffalo and say, "Hey! We gotta win through the air (despite them being named the Jets and irony and stuff) so we're gonna try the deep ball over and over despite the fact that Bell is a turnstile and our receivers are wearing boxing gloves."
