The hit that could end Stewarts career... you make the call...

The saints are dirty as hell. But this is sad that youre now grasping for any type of straws. Show the Moorested facemask all you want, in order to rally our fans. But this is a lil pety

Whats sad is that you see this as grasping at straws, incorrectly. Don't be so anxious to look better than everyone else because, well, you don't.

Simply discussing the hit.

Yeah, it happens all the time.

Usually if you want a player to stop moving forward, you hit them in the legs.

He wasn't going for Stew's feet to upend him, he was going for his knee.

Considering the team, seems the intent was less to get him out of bounds, but instead, off the field entirely.

All the more reason that our guys better be fired up when the Saints come to Charlotte.

Well, DB's are taught to hit a RB low - especially one Stewart's size - to avoid extreme truckage - but hitting someone low and taking a shot @ the side of their knee as they're headed for the sideline are two different things.

Legal play, dirty hit... good news is we get a chance to return the favor on 12/22.

Why should the Saints player assume he was going out of bounds?

Looks to me like the intent was to make a tackle.

I see a clean hit by a DB who knows Stew will truck him if he goes high and doesn't want to risk getting burned down the sideline by an RB who may or may not actually go out of bounds.  To me this is more an indictment of the rules which basically force DBs to tackle low than on the player.  As much as I dislike the Saints and every one of their players I can't fault the dude for this hit.  I fault the NFL for this hit.  And as long as they insist on forcing tacklers low on the body knees will get hurt.

I hope Stew makes a full recovery, he's a good dude.  With his history of injury though I don't know.  He has a lot of problems with his wheels and a RB without wheels is a mess.

"Discussing the hit"... With clearly no agenda behind it right?

What do u expect any defender to do? Arm tackle Stew so they can end up posterized like Ronde Barber? Just let him "run out of bounds"? Yes cuz clearly thats what a mad 220 pound, powerful RB was going to do in that exact situation with one defender to beat...run out of bounds. Would you have liked JStew to have just taken a knee after he got the 1st down?

This exact tackle happens 20 times per game. Stick with the Moorested play if youre trying to just "discuss" a specific dirty play
