Offseason price tags...

It's funny watching people completely abandon our guys after a loss. They are OUR guys. Many of them will be back.

I think certain players like Ginn or Mitchell have turned into huddle legends but Gettleman probably looks at things more pragmatically. That is one of my beefs with Hurney. He would fall in love with guys that helped us win games and not properly evaluate their market value.

I am tired of LaFell. At this point we know what he has to offer, there is no longer a real shot at a "break out" season anymore.

I know its late in the season, but I wouldn't mind seeing him lose 5-10 snaps a game to explore other options.

How do you intend to replace him? If we draft someone high it will be for our no.1 role. If we draft someone late we can't gamble on them starting for us. Steve is transitioning into a role player.

Lafell is 39th in receptions, 49th in yards, tied for 21st in TDs in an offense that runs more than most. That puts him firmly in the 2nd receiver category. Yeah he's boring but he also fills a role. Not only will other teams want him but they might outbid us for him.

We won't bring in someone better than him through FA, at least not as a no.2. I could see Hakeem Nicks coming in for a 1 year deal to raise his value.

I'm not taking on crap on him. He's alright. Not great. But fine. And he's always going to be just fine. It's not difficult to find a receiver like that. I'm just suggesting give some reps to some other guys that might have a lot of upside if they got a shot. I don't feel like it's much of a risk. I have never looked at the way our offense lines up and yell "WHY THE HELL ISN"T LAFELL ON THE FIELD???"

I'd love for us to make a run at Nicks as a free agent and see if he can be a legit #1 for us.  He has the tools, and I think his welcome was just wore out in New York.  It didn't help that Cruz emerged as a legit #1 for them making him expendable.  Hopefully, this humbling season has brought his price tag down some so you won't have to break the bank on him.  For a reasonable contract, I'd absolutely take him.
