Speakers

Saints had sets of large speakers behind both benches facing the field. This is the first time they have done this. Some may call that cheating when trying to set a noise record.

That classy organization has given me nothing to suspect them of that kind of behavior.

Now if you told me it was the Saints....  Wait, what?

LOL, I think they finally did set the record (yawn) but it wasn't until late in the game - must have set those speakers up at halftime.

Apparently they kept flashing messages on the board for fans to get loud, but they may have grossly overestimated the literacy of their fanbase?

Looks like they learned from Seattle

Thomas Morestead has been a weekly guest on The Great Scott show here in Lafayette on ESPN 1420. He said that the Seahawks use speakers to enhance the noise level in the stadium while opposing offenses are on the field. I don't want to complain like a 49er and claim this is unfair, but I thought this was actually already against the rules?

He said that the crowd gets so much credit for the noise level in the stadium but it surely isn't entirely the case. They are helped out by the noise being pumped through the speakers at the opposing bench.

It's legal now anyway:
